Awsome episode guys! As for the healing guide, you don’t really need other addons than omen or what ever threat manager is used by your guild. Makes it easier for some but It’s definately not a must as said imo. I myself have never used anything other than the build in blizz interfaces, macrofunction and a hell of a lot of binds. I use the mouse to click on the person that needs healing and use the right macro/bind combo.
Need more episodes your hilarious all of you! BTW first advertisement I’ve seen now 6+ times and still find myself giggle a bit at the end

I love the ad as well. This was a good epi, I liked it a lot. I had no idea that the healer has to go through so much as I’m typically the tank or hunter, so its nice to know all that in case i decide to become a healer with an alt. ^^ which I might, it would be interesting to see how I handle it. Though I just prefer to be a tank… oh well.

Another healing addon that some people use is called Healbot. It basically works like Goggins’ two addons but in one. You can bind up to 20 heals to mouse clicks (buttons 1-5, then combined with shift, alt, etc), and you just click on peoples names in the frame that the addon gives you. I believe that it also highlights who is taking the most damage, giving you an indication of who needs to be healed. In my opinion, it makes healing one of the easiest tasks in the game, because all you have to do is click 5 (or 10 or 25) little bars in a window.

Healbot is ok, but Grid + Clique is a MUCH better solution.
It is more configurable, takes up less space, shows more information, allows you to bind more key combinations, AND doesnt screw up as much.
I cannot count how many times iv had healers try to make us stop a raid while they relog / reloadui to fix an issue with healbot.
Since changing to clique (i dont even use grid any more, just clique on my well configured Xperl raidframes
), i have not had to reloadui EVER.

Nice movie, but I think you should do raid instances instead of heroics since you can do an heroic with blue gear, and you guys got full epic atleast what you can see, so you should be doing something harder like mount hyjal / BT / swp.

so for DPS, they too have to be aware of what is going on while the tank has focus on the Main badee…
The hunter could have multi shotted the adds as he is focusing on boss or the mage could have just tabbed to fireblast one… the group got slowed/frozen/poisoned because no one was taking care of them as they spawned…
Oh I dont know if it has been said already, but what are the add ons that the mage is using…

I dont necessarily think that a healing mod is required to be an adequate healer. Sure they do neat things like key bindings and such, but they dont give you things like reflexes or in depth knowledge on how your heals work. Healing mods are a luxury, not a necessity. I have met several healers with mods who somehow still manage to epic fail. All in all, why have mods play the game for you when you’re paying money every month
Healers are both masochist and sadist at the same time. They love to watch people get hurt, and choose to be the most vulnerable players in the party/raid.

Nice healing talk, especially about mods. Another good mod for healers I use (resto druid) are Xperl unit frames. They do everything Grid does except health bar are a lot bigger and it’s useful for someone like me who nearly has to squint to see Grid. I use that along with Clique, most of my clicks are bound for Abolish Poison and Remove Curse, with my 4th and 5th buttons bound to Nature’s Swiftness + Healing Touch when the really gigantic heal is needed.

I love Grid. It keeps my UI clean. I know healers that use a Click type addon, but it is far from necessary. I am a good healer with my priest and I just use mouseover macros or healing and cleansing, while keeping the main target (ie. boss) targetted. I also use custom user frames — I’ve found Pitbull to be the best custom user frame mod.
The most important thing as a healer is to be aware of more than just your party members; be aware of your surroundings and always be ready to move around. Plan ahead to take care of spike damage possibilities, aoe damage to your party and having to move.

The healer talk on this one is really solid. He knows what he’s talking about and explains exactly what I felt when starting to heal on my paladin. You NEED the addons, otherwise you’re not going to be fast enough. Grid is great, however I use it with macros to heal on mouseover (I mouse over a target, then can press ‘1′, ‘2′ etc).
On the boss, the little adds should be killed as fast as possible. Not only do they have annoying abilities (like the ice block, which you don’t want the tank to be trapped in) but when they attack casters they are going to suffer from spell pushbacks. Good abilities to clear them are multi shot, arcane explosion and seed of corruption.
As you noticed, the bigger plants aren’t elite. You can thunderclap (or consecration) to collect them, then run around. Then just AOE them quickly (with a mage or warlock) and others basically just nuke them.
This is my favourite episode yet!
