Love the show guys. I was flipping through the channels yesterday and saw Jerry Trainor’s face. Turns out he plays on a show called iCarly on Nick ;)

By George on Friday, July 25th, 2008 at 2:06 pm

Macros aren’t cheating, but they’re generally a sign of a hunter that doesn’t know what they’re doing unless they’re trying to exploit a timing quirk that’s nigh impossible to handweave.

The big problem is that when you run into an encounter that requires anything other than a standard attack rotation, your DPS goes in the crapper as you try to adjust.

Examples: encounters requiring tranq shot, High King Maulgar (NO ARCANE SHOTS ON KROSH), etc.

Truth is, you should be able to achieve the same DPS, maybe higher by handweaving. I don’t remember what the hunter used before, but at the Kara level, a dwarf Beast Master hunter should be using the Wolf Slayer Sniper rifle. It has better timing (which makes it superior for all BM hunters) and because it’s a gun, there’s an extra 1% crit thrown on for the dwarf racial.

I just wanted to point something out here, I think either you didnt mention anything or you -FORGOT- that Hunters (Yes I am one thus I am complaining here) has [Aspect of the Wild] Which gives you bonus in nature reisistance. Sure he gets to do less dps, but hes BM so he sucks anyhow ^^

Keep up the good work, I always end up laughing watching the show and at the same time I am showing it to friends who haven’t done this instances on heroic. Making it actually informative ^^.

By Andreas on Friday, July 25th, 2008 at 4:43 pm

Aspect of the wild does not stack with the nature resistance totem, so no point in having both that up and totem down, its a choice really depending on which has the best benefits for the group.

Nice vid again guys, looking forward for the next episodes!

Love the concept of mates with beer playing WoW.

    Keep them coming!

    Hi,

I’ve been watching these episodes since you went out, and I’m kinda unsatisfied with the infos you give regarding the trash / boss.

I just think it’d be more helpful for less experienced players to give more informations about how to go through all this.

Little tricks, here and there that make a difference between a wipe and a kill.

I know it’s only slave pens, wich is by far the easiest Heroics of all, but still…

I always leave your website wanting a little bit more

… or maybe I was wrong the whole time and this website is for inexperienced players, I don’t know

By Kitzerz on Friday, July 25th, 2008 at 8:28 pm

    Great show guys, honestly.
Aside from some audio issues, I wouldn’t change a damn thing.
You have the right amount of info, I find, for the caliber of show your trying to achieve. Any more and it would just be boring.
Very laid back, plenty of personality.
Bit of humor, bit of wit.
Keep up the good work guys, cant wait to see what you do in the future.

-If you want more info on a dungeon ppl look it up. More than enough content on the interweb. Check youtube if you really need a visual aid.
-Plz for the love of god… we know Jerry acts for Nick. Enough already.

video is freezing on me too :(
you know guys, maybe you should consider releasing the vids on bittorrent too :P

By whiteleaf on Saturday, July 26th, 2008 at 5:51 am

Great takedown, boys. Appreciated the tip about using a nature resist totem but you didn’t mention hunters can put up a nature resistance aspect too. Every little helps, or so I’m told.

More details on bosses and strats please! Also, would you mind explaining what mods you are using and what macros - if you’re using something that works and are showing it to us, tell us what it is!

If I offended with my last post i apologize.

By visious on Saturday, July 26th, 2008 at 10:58 am

macros isnt cheating lol xD but how can a macro increase ur dps by 200?

By ChaosKnign on Saturday, July 26th, 2008 at 10:25 pm

Not that it mattered much since you guys killed Quag, but a better strat is to tank him with your back to the wall, to avoid his throwback move taking precious aggro-laying seconds from the tank. I personally choose the right hand wall behind the lightpost thing there. I pull him by myself by walking along the side pulling him out a bit and turning him so that he’s at an oblique angle to the group.

Oh, and about the videos, the audio needs some work and the rogues POV is just annoying. I guess he has a habit of zooming in and out during gameplay which is fine for that person, but it’s unnerving to watch.

By John on Saturday, July 26th, 2008 at 10:58 pm

“Sure he gets to do less dps, but hes BM so he sucks anyhow ^^”
Either you’re a moron, or your sense of humor sucks.

“Appreciated the tip about using a nature resist totem but you didn’t mention hunters can put up a nature resistance aspect too. Every little helps, or so I’m told.”
Read above you. They DON’T STACK. The hunter aspect is good if you don’t have a shaman in group.

“macros isnt cheating lol xD but how can a macro increase ur dps by 200?”
Because many hunters are inept and can’t manage to time their shots correctly and/or forget to use Kill every time it’s available.

I’ve played almost every instance on heroic atleast once and IMO the 70 Heroics seem easier. Maybe that I get better group or that I know the strat for the 70 regs better and then it applies to the heroic making it go easier.

By Stephen kelly on Sunday, July 27th, 2008 at 3:02 am

when ever you fight a boss instead of saying BOSS START, it says BOSS STRAT, lol just thought id let you guys know, keep up the good work!

By VaeVictis on Sunday, July 27th, 2008 at 10:07 am

the video is freezing on me too…

By Shane on Sunday, July 27th, 2008 at 9:32 pm

“when ever you fight a boss instead of saying BOSS START, it says BOSS STRAT, lol just thought id let you guys know, keep up the good work!”

I think that’s intentional.. Strat being short for Strategy. Since right after that flashes they talk about it, then it says Boss Kill when they really fight it.

so, nice job im looking forward to the next episodes… Goggins/jerry is so funny, so are you guys actually going to do end game raids and make videos of that?

By Sadiniel on Monday, July 28th, 2008 at 1:49 am

I’m enjoying your videos, keep up the good work.

An additional tip for Quag: While tanking he will occationally target a different player and cast the acid spray, which you noticed. You can force Quag to turn back to the tank for a few seconds using taunt, which prevents him from dealing a ton of damage to the rest of the party and extra threat is always nice to have.

Loving the show. Jerry is my hero!

Hey great job guys. I was wondering me being a BM hunter and all what was the macro.

By Hxctank on Friday, August 1st, 2008 at 11:13 am

WHY DO U GET A GEM FROM EACH. Ive been farming heroics for awhile and ive only seen a couple of them drop :(

By Kevorkian on Sunday, August 3rd, 2008 at 9:10 am

Seems this vid was a bit lax from what i saw.
Just a couple of mistakes i picked up on.

At the first mention of the druid it says “These mobs guard a driud prisoner”
Yes, a Driud prisoner. Pedantic I know, but hey, I notice these things.

Last mistake I saw was during the Quagmirran fight, the video was tracking the Dwarf Hunter. Yet the little camera picture that shows you who you’re watching was still on the guy who controls the Rogue.

By Kaneiac on Sunday, August 3rd, 2008 at 10:11 pm

Love all your guys’ stuff. It’s refreshing to see a group of people that play the game for fun rather than treating it like a job :)

By littlestout on Monday, August 11th, 2008 at 3:26 pm

    hey guys,
i just wanted to know, what add-on gives some of you the health an mana bar in the center of the screen. and what website can i grab that from

By tony on Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 at 9:53 am

Turn the Music down and turn your voice audio up. Its really annoying that i need to turn up the volume to hear you speak, but then when some music comes on, its insanley loud. other then that, really cool.

By Alex on Tuesday, September 9th, 2008 at 4:40 pm

Very superficial, almost no help for an actual run… .E.g. how do u pull the 5-mobs group after the 2nd boss without aggroing the stealth-detecting 2-mob CC-immune patrol? Which do u do first, pat or group, and where do u pull from?
We get wiped on that every time, and thats pretty much the most helpful strat you could have given in a video.
Things like “get nature resist” are a one-liner for text, u dont need video for that.
