Episode 2.3: Slave Pens

Project Lore continues its fight in Heroic Slave Pens as the boys tackle the second boss Rokmar the Crackler. The guys do some fancy footwork and skip loads of mobs to get to the real fight with Rokmar. Will they rock Rokmar or get cracked by the Crackler? We’ll see in this episode.

Sweet job. Very nicely done with the shortcuts without having to deal with mobs. Thanks for the tips! =)

Great episode, these are great. But those flashing ads MUST die. I kept seizing when I was trying to watch the vid.

By Brian on Thursday, July 24th, 2008 at 1:49 pm

Nice work! The audio levels are really low when the boys are talking and I turn it up. Then when the music comes on, it gets really loud, and I have to turn it down.
Its annoying, but I don’t care, cuz I LOVE this show!

Awesome video guys, although a suggestion if I may, although you guys have probably already pre-empted it…

You’ve done your first two instances with a lot of physical DPS, and a warrior tank, are there any plans to mix up the group setup at all, get some more tasty casters into the mix?

Just a little thought, but the videos are still the win!

I like the concept of dudes just hanging out playin’ WoW, cameras abounding. However, your show is devoid of new/useful information or charisma. Extremely superficial skimming of instances is nearly as exciting as paint drying.

A variety show or documenting of an endgame guild would be better bets. WoW geeks like details.

Your montage music is god awful too. Might try mixing it up from time to time.

    Concept: 10
    Execution: 1.2

Hope you guys get in some naps,

    -p

    WTB volume leveler.

Honestly, I had to sit on my volume control for this. Some points were deadly quiet, some was okay, and the music was always loud…

Though, good show! I’m sure you’re just working out the kinks!

    Great site guys.

Could someone please explain how a warlock is best played. I have a new level 70 lock and I am running in circles.

    Thanks

Heh, u let him die to prove a point and give people an example of the dot, right? you so meant for him to die ;)

By Toasterstrudull on Thursday, July 24th, 2008 at 3:58 pm

With the shortcut - contrary to popular belief it doesn’t help that much you miss TWO pulls by doing it. If a single group member misses the jump down (which happens 90% of the time) it ends up taking longer for him or her to walk all the way around and try again. I think its much easier to just do the couple of extra pulls and go around. Plus, if you don’t do the shortcut, you have access to the SSC Attunement quest giver. Although it isn’t required anymore, you can still do the quest to get your “Champion of the Naaru” title.

Mushy, it is in one of the blogs about dorkins addons.
Great, great episode =D i love it.

By Gaiwyn on Thursday, July 24th, 2008 at 6:34 pm

Actually, you miss three necessary pulls: the patrol of two defenders at the top, the two champion sentries at the end of the tunnel down the bottom, and the group of four bogstroks by the boss ^^

I love when you guys do noob things like not healing the tank up after the fight and letting him die. It really adds to the humour of this series that you are making ;)

Another great episode! When will we see some forums on this site? XD

very nice show, I like it cause it reminds me of my guild on vent but more visuall and is quite funny, I would like if maybe you had an episode outside of running the instances like a new first episode that detailed your paticular toons and maybe some of the equipment your using

Another great job, guys, especially with the shortcut. When you do things like this in future though, could you do it slower, please? I appreciate theres a fine line between taking the time to explain something and the show being slow, but I feel like I need ADHD or crack to keep up with all the flashing tips and movement around the instance.

It might be nice if you went into more detail about what’s actually going on in the Boss fights as well. Can you expain what abilities your toons are using? For example, I have a pretty good idea how to play a pally or hunter, but I’m levelling a rogue and have no experience with the other caster classes. Telling me what abilities and tactics you are using would help me play my toons better and appreciate how to work with other classes too. This sort of thing would help make the show more of a guide and less an exhibition.

    Keep it up!
