Episode 2.1: Slave Pens
Finally Project Lore takes on a Heroic - The Slave Pens in the Coilfang Reservoir. In this one, the guys are met by a surprise guest boss, The Frost Lord Ahune. Will they toast marshmallows on Ahune’s scortched icicle body or will the Frost Lord deal them the icy hand of wipe? Who knows? You will. Watch this.

This video is 10 times better than hellfire ramparts.
Great to see teamwork and a good fight. Of course, since you only posted part 1, I am left in suspense.

Epic……this show is awesome. Only a really classy show would actually give us the wipes. Nothin like a good wipe to start the day.
By chrobae on Monday, July 21st, 2008 at 1:31 pm
Really excited about the second episode, way to go!
By Josh on Monday, July 21st, 2008 at 1:32 pm
What’s up guys, love the show loved, Hellfire Ramparts, nice to see you’re doing some heroic stuff despite the fact you got raped. I have faith you’ll get him the next time.

I’m glad they tried Ahune, but they probably didnt realize how crazy this fight is. We wiped a few times on regular before we had him down, and there is no way a T4 geared group could down him on heroic ( at least not my group ).
The key was downing the elemental as soon as possible, then conserving mana while AoE nuking the adds, as they have very low health.
My only gripe is that on the trash pulls, I wish you’d tell us what fears rather than saying “Some trash fears”, its the warrior naga by the way, because being feared into other groups is the only thing that makes this instance difficult.
By datelus on Monday, July 21st, 2008 at 3:00 pm
this show should be included as revision3 shows, huh?
By Mushy on Monday, July 21st, 2008 at 3:10 pm
Good job. Heroic Ahune was a straight pain in the rear end. You guys seem to know what you’re doing with him now. Can’t wait for the next episode!
By Jamie on Monday, July 21st, 2008 at 3:53 pm
Watching you guys enjoy some beers while playing WoW is beginning to rekindle my love for the game.
I think I may start playing again very soon.
Thank you

Iv downed Ahune on Heroic, Prot Paladin in T4 / badge gear.
my team actually only got me in for the boss, after 3 wipes with a warrior tank, opted for the more aoe mob controlling paladin.
made it easier on the healer, as everyone stacks behind the paladin and so all the mobs run into consecration, focus fire on him, giving one targetfor the healer to just spam on one target.
it was a bitch of a fight and it sees the healer working overtime.
Im really keen to see if the team handles it or they wuss out!
It was a real surprise to have such a tough boss in what is usually just a no-nonsense farm clear. i hope blizzard make more of these seasonal bosses

So why release these on separate days. Why wait a week to release a whole instance if you have it pre-recorded. Since this video was recorded between June 21 - July 5.
By Jafa on Monday, July 21st, 2008 at 4:05 pm
I think that releasing the videos on separate days will help with their post production pains, but I really cant speak for them on that.
By Chris on Monday, July 21st, 2008 at 5:41 pm
I’m not a WoW gamer, but OMG these videos are fuN!!! I don’t even have to play… is fun just to watch you guys play and argue with eachother.
By MacFlecknoe on Monday, July 21st, 2008 at 7:14 pm
Can you guys PLEASE release a feed of the videos like revision3 shows? I use Juice and not iTunes to grab podcasts.
By Juggynaut on Monday, July 21st, 2008 at 7:22 pm
Hey, this feed http://projectlore.blip.tv/rss/itunes should work for non itunes

Coilfang rays do a horror, which tremor totem should deal with anyway. It can’t be cleansed like fear can, but it does have a cast time, so can be interrupted (ks / kick etc). If a champion does intimidating shout, once again, tremor totem will take care of it - and with a disepeller, the fears from those guys can be dispelled (a good priest / paladin in the party will dispel in less than a second). But good call taking stuff back into the hallway. A rule of thumb in any given heroic while clearing trash is to pull stuff back whenever possible for easier cc and less chance of getting adds
Tip: for mobs that do have a cast time on a nasty spell, if you set that mob as your focus and use focus interrupts, fights can go a lot smoother, as you don’t have to switch targets (eg. earth shock or kick the focus target if it casts a heal or a fear). If you have your focus target showing on the screen, it is very easy to see when it is casting that spell you want to interrupt. Focus macros are imperative in Arena, but I have been using them for PvE play on most, if not all of my toons since Burning Crusade was released.
Love the movies so far, guys. It’s getting close to expansion release. I hope you will churn out some high end heroic ones before we launch into new content XD
By DiggnationFan1 on Monday, July 21st, 2008 at 9:46 pm
Hey guys, love the show.
Definitely a big fan of yours Alex, but it’d be nice to hear a little more from the other guys once and a while; just a thought.
By zebtron on Monday, July 21st, 2008 at 11:05 pm
I am scared to even watch a show with a Hot Topic, brand-new, unwashed, post-death ‘Ramones’ shirt as the thumbnail. What is this? Current.com (Current TV)?
By gastlyc on Monday, July 21st, 2008 at 11:50 pm
“So…that was epic”
ROFL Great job keep it up. Don’t listen to people bitching about the show cuz it’s awesome.

hahaha WTB AoE eh?
By Synapz on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008 at 1:19 am
First off, love the show. Very entertaining, and I’m glad something like this came out. Keep up the good work.
Very classy on showing the wipe, I got to admit. Ahune is a bitch to fight, went down as fast as my group when we tried him first time. Kind of like getting punched in the face, you never know what’s coming, and when it does….you’re basically disoriented or out. Ok, bad comparison on my side…..
Keep it up and can’t wait to see the boss kill.
By callum on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008 at 3:27 am
i like your videos of ramparts and slave pens but the video freezes in some places but the sound still works , im not sure if its to do with my comp or on your side
By henri on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008 at 4:12 am
Hi, like the site and the vidos BUT
I’d like to see some hardcore stuff meaning longer videos like uncut raids, the pain, the love and everything else. I know you must be on some kind of a timelimit and that these videos might be long but I would watch them!
k, great stuff hope to see more. Alex rocks, other dudes are new but like em too..
By ronsuperior on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008 at 7:27 am
Haha, this show is fun to watch. They tell it like it is. Even tho they seem to lack some experience in some of the content, they entertain us all the way through…
At the start when the hunter got raped, i would have /kicked replaced him quick style if he pulled that kind of shinanigans in my group…
but all in all, keep showing us the stuff that makes WoW fun, which is grouping together with friends and having a good time.
Peace.

I think you missed an instance. The Blood Furnace would usually come before the Slave Pens.

By Ilishan on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008 at 12:36 pm
and so you know Alex said from the easiest heroic to the hardest heroic, so they havent really been skipping any instance because else they have skipped heroic ramparts as well.
By duruk on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 at 2:44 am
Lord Ahune is pretty easy once you figure him out. Hunters shine here, as do rogues. Mage/lock/spriest for the elite spawn.
Elementals don’t need tank, a rogue can bring them down quickly enough, and a hunter can do one.
The thing that wipes groups here is the spikes. This is also what causes healers to go OOM. Shammy healer with spriest is king in here, for loads of mana regen and laser healing
As for CC, there’s only a few places you need it. With a decent tank (any tanking class, a bit harder for warriors, but doable. dps needs to watch aggro more carefully tho) 3 mobs is not too hard to tank. Some groups later in the instance heals, so either CC or hard nuke.
As a tankadin, the mages I’m running with cries for not being allowed to sheep until late in the instance

Hi is goggins the guy of the film Evolution and films like that which have, i duno what is name is but, in evolution the guy at the start who gets car blown up by the meteor.
By whiteleaf on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 at 3:41 pm
hey guys, just got through 2.1 and again wanted to say ‘well done’. You’ve got a good looking show and the whole thing is really nicely produced. There are a couple of things I thought could be better though.
Firstly, I thought were you rushed through the trash mobs was odd. As this is a guide I would have appreciated more info on how to handle the groups of mixed mobs - which ones to cc and kill first, that sort of thing. You could talk about which pulls are optional, which are tricky, which involve pats, that sort of thing. Just fast-forwarding through all this kinda makes watching pointless. If your show is going to be worth watching shouldn’t it be teaching viewers how to beat the instance, not just saying ‘there’s a load of mobs to fight and they’re really boring’?
Secondly, why spend so much time on Frost Lord Ahune at all? He was a seasonal boss and a novelty to fight and to see. I would rather you fast-forwarded through this fight, than all the other smaller ones. Nice to see, but as I’m probably never going to fight him, who really cares how it went?
I don’t want to be totally negative or for you to think I’m just here to flame you! I think you’ve got a great site, I appreciate your material (I got the Grid addon on your recommendation!), and think you’ve all got good onscreen chemistry. Looking forward to seeing more.

Nice job. You guys should try Hogger or Gamon next.
By Henrik Falk on Thursday, July 24th, 2008 at 10:29 am
You could raise the volume when talking and lover it when you just play around with cool sound effects for the show.
By John Stamous on Saturday, July 26th, 2008 at 5:26 am
Ahune is basically impossible without a pally tank.
By Berkz on Saturday, July 26th, 2008 at 6:33 am
Hey nice idea for a show. Couldn’t enjoy it thought cause the video was so distorted and horrible. Sound was cutting out alot and getting delayed and stuff like that

omg Jerry Trainor, u are freakin hilarious, iCarly is the best show on Nick and u make the show that much better. It’s awesome that u play wow. What else r u in besides iCarly, Drake and Josh, and project lore?
By Kraki on Saturday, August 2nd, 2008 at 1:23 am
crow control is NOT a must here… you guys suck. you just need a tank who can hold aggro, dps who know how not to pull aggro, and a healer who can… wait for it…. heal….
this instance is beyond easy…
alliance = teh suck
By everlong on Sunday, August 3rd, 2008 at 6:47 am
the tank really sucks tbh.
just look at the first pull he stands with a mob behind him, which basicly means he can’t avoid hits from him.
you learn that in like DM

By AzianJoeNad on Wednesday, August 20th, 2008 at 8:39 pm
if u do another dungeon on norm u r all PANSIES. most the lvl 70 heroic dungeons r actually pretty easy. the only heroics i can say r truly deficult and u prolly wont b able 2 do r MGT and Shattered Halls. but as long as u have solid group(which it seems like u guys r almost overgeared 4 heroics) u should b fine.
By Jay on Friday, August 22nd, 2008 at 2:13 am
Luv’ ur work. good 2 see other people at work.
What strikes me the most is the fun you guys have doing this. I’ve seen lots of people cursing and badmouthing on teammembers if things go wrong and it’s the one part of the game i can do without.
Keep up the good work and enjoy

By Jared on Sunday, August 24th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
The Ahune fight is very fun. I found that the best way to handle the non-elite elementals is to have a well geared warlock in the group who can just cast Seed of Corruption on the Elite Elemental repeatedly. We where able to down this boss just before he came out of his second phase 2 in heroic mode. Seed of Corruption is rather mana intensive so have a health stone ready so you can life tap to regain some much needed mana.
By Billy palmer on Thursday, September 18th, 2008 at 1:01 pm
They only have things wrapped around the cans because they would be “advitising” the make of beer cuz loads of people watch this..
and btw, the video is entertaining and very funny
By James "Shilon" Albuqerque on Sunday, October 19th, 2008 at 5:03 am
Guys, I made this on heroic and this is so easy, dont need cc trash mobs if you have a good healer like me! xD

Very nice video, I just want to know the name of the add-on they’re using which shows the stats like this: +3 intellect (0.09% spell crit ecc. ecc.). I hope you understood what I meant.
