So what’s the deal, guys? Are we gonna have to wait 3 weeks for you to finish 1 relatively quick instance?

That might be okay with a harder instance that you haven’t shown before, but come on guys - this is Utgarde Keep. We’ve seen it before. A good number of us have actually run it at this point.

If your episodes were a little bit longer and the editing was a little tighter you could easily bust through this instance in three episodes, instead of nine.

I believe that the retri pally is a great DPS char. I never played one but i’ve seen in raids how badass they can get. In the Burning Crusade the Retri pally was a sort of an outcast class. In 90% of the raids the retry pally was on the bottom of the dps chart. With Wrath the pally has jumped from the bottom of the dps to the first and second spots on the chart. Rogues and hunters will now have a contender for the dps mastery.

By Dtotheug on Wednesday, December 10th, 2008 at 1:34 pm

Poor Jeff. His Retadin should be doing a hell of lot more DPS. I think he has a gear issue.

By Simon on Wednesday, December 10th, 2008 at 1:35 pm

@ Ironhoof. Let’s not forget about locks in BC, they got screwed in 3.0, and now they are back on track, but not 1st.. atho i do tend to make top 5 dps in 25 man naxx bosses with lesser gear than my guildies.

By Jaakko on Wednesday, December 10th, 2008 at 1:35 pm

“I’m gonna go home and read about how I’m gonna do more DPS”. Awesome, can’t wait for the bosses!

    I feel for Jeff… we’ve all been there… lol

By jk4ever on Wednesday, December 10th, 2008 at 2:32 pm

ok as a ret pally this is actually painful to watch. What seal are you using jeff? By the looks of it you are using SoV which is just….no! You should be using SoM or SoC. I realize you are new to ret but come on.

By Larna on Wednesday, December 10th, 2008 at 3:09 pm

Nice episode - love seeing Jeff’s reactions to all these new things (for him) when all the other guys are like, ‘Meh. Been there, seen that.’

I also love whenever the guys bring Schnoobins because my main is a mage and I love being able to compare my crits to his - figuring out if I’m even on the same planet as them dps wise. :D

By Karoc on Wednesday, December 10th, 2008 at 3:30 pm

Gotta say nice one with the “oh crap I still have my riding crop on guess that explains it” But all in all I’ve enjoyed this series since day 1 Keep it up guys

By Cypher671 on Wednesday, December 10th, 2008 at 3:35 pm

LoL they didn’t censor the F word at one point when Alex was talking to dorkins. Have no problem with it. Just thought it was hilarious. They should just leave the videos uncensored cuz i hate it when i hear the bleeps.*

Aww come on guys.. forgot the RSS feed again.

By Shark on Wednesday, December 10th, 2008 at 4:19 pm

Just noticed that he was saying hunters were overpowered…Maybe blizz did watch this and see because they’re nerfing them pretty big according to MMO champion. GG Dorkins!! :)

By Thanks guys on Wednesday, December 10th, 2008 at 4:50 pm

LoL Thanks guys. Best part of this site now is coming on to watch an episode and read the comments that follow and make me realize just how good of a player I am and to be thankful that I’m in a good guild.

LoL people saying “rogues, ret pallys and locks” are on the top of meters. Dorkins being excited, about 1100 dps only spammin steady shot. Watchin Schnoobins terrible rotation. I like them giving props to the Lyle for holding aggro when 3 dps are combined 2k dps. =P Although he is the best player, of the 4, by far.

In my guild, we’ve almost full cleared all 25’s, our top dps is always hunters/mages with over 4k dps and rogues/DK right behind.

Tip for mages Pre-80, GO FROST! fire or frostfire is terrible pre-80 especially as your rateings drop. Frost will keep ur crit up thanks to FoF/frostbite w/ shatter.

    p.s. 18th!!!! OMG!! I’m 18th. haha crazy kids.

By fanofjeff on Wednesday, December 10th, 2008 at 5:30 pm

    Poor Jeff :D

The lack of dps is no doubt a gear issue, but I think before the xpac he was prot so maybe didn’t have a full dps set for this? If you don’t mind me giving a couple of tips that work for me, here they are:

    1) stack strength and crit to inifinity (as ret, every item you wear should have these stats, not spell power as there is a talent that converts attack power to spell power)
    2) Use seal of command/martyr. Use divine storm-judgement-crusader strike rotation. Use your stun for extra damage whenever you can.
    3) Stand BEHIND mobs when attacking, because then you can’t be parried and you also won’t get caught in any cleaves etc from the mob.

Hope this helps. Great show, love it, keep it coming!

Damn i wish you guys did The Nexus this time round instead of Utgarde Keep again :(

By Egma on Thursday, December 11th, 2008 at 3:22 am

I see where Jeffs DPS issue is in his spec…. he is spec’d like an old retro would be… if he picks up 3 points in “Sheath of Light” that would increase his SP 379 unbuffed and even more so with more AP buffs. Though old retro never took any spell damage/power that 379SP reall does help the retro DPS now.

    http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Executus&n=Hippocket

and yes fanofjeff his gear is also a big part of his dps… my point being that his spells are 1/2 as powerfull as they could be with his current gear if he just droped BoK and 2 other points from somewhere else to get the “30%AP= SP and all crit heals heal 60% extra healing with a HoT” because his unbuffed AP is 1264 which would be 379SP, with his untalented BoM being 410AP that would be another 123SP totaling missing out on 502SP with only his BoM and that 3 points not including any other AP buff gain that would even further raise the SP.

    DORKINS TO THE GROUND BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By Sinuviel on Thursday, December 11th, 2008 at 5:15 am

Quite sure Blizzard was working on the hunter nerf a little bit before this episode aired. As in, a few weeks already. They don’t just decide on changes from one day to another.

By Blaze on Thursday, December 11th, 2008 at 6:39 am

    Great job :)
I was wondering about Dr.Darks addons. There is one addon like ArchHUD but it looks better. Can somebody tell me what’s the name of the addon?

Keep up the good work! :)

By Flyhardur on Thursday, December 11th, 2008 at 6:47 am

I wonder if you you tell us which addons you guys are using in the videos.

By SaintElmo on Thursday, December 11th, 2008 at 12:32 pm

    @ Walls

First off, a lot of people like these videos and enjoy Project Lore.

Second, while some people have run Utgarde Keep a few times now, some have not, so it is still valuable to those who have not run it.

Third, if you remember correctly, the guys said they were running Utgarde again to see what was different from the beta. While little has changed, it’s good to see that they are keeping the content accurate to what’s on the live servers.

Fourth, a lot of people like the length of the videos, and from the comments, a lot like these better then the marathon 30 min episodes we used to see. Most people’s attention span doesn’t last more than 20 min anyway so these are just fine by me and a lot of other people here

Fifth, even though you may think you know something about editing videos, I don’t see anything from your link that shows me you could do it any better. So until you put up, you can…

Overall, take into consideration other people before you write your comments. You have not idea what those people at Project Lore go through to make this FREE show for you and I for one am grateful that they make the best WoW playing experience videos on the internet.

so Walls, until you can do better, toss off.

and to Project Lore - ROCK ON !

By The Darkness on Thursday, December 11th, 2008 at 2:51 pm

i agree with elmo i like the length of the show not to long not to short im also very grateful that your doing this for all those WoW fans out there

By Trevor D Wade on Thursday, December 11th, 2008 at 4:06 pm

Jeff, I don’t care what anyone says, you are OK. It’s cool Jerry is off in Hollywood, but…Drake & Josh, man? Is Nickelodeon that fun?

Also, I miss the good old day where an instance took a week and I had good music in the background, go back to that, please.

By Victor(fellow paladin) on Thursday, December 11th, 2008 at 6:25 pm

    Hey Jeff.
I have a little tip to increase your dps.
First of all change your seal to Seal of the Martyr. You get alot more dps out of it and you get some mana back from the chain heals.

Second, you need to spam judgement whenever its up, spam crusader strike whenever its up, and spam divine storm whenever its up (and no other mobs are nearby).

This should, and probably will, boost your dps to alot more then dorkins ;D sorry dorkins but you would be beat by a good retribution paladin. :)

keep up the awesome work that you do, me and all my friends enjoy it.
    Peace to you all :)

By Antonio on Thursday, December 11th, 2008 at 7:36 pm

Keep up the good work crew. Got a question. Are you guys using an aggro addon? If so, which one? Thanks.

By Lembata on Thursday, December 11th, 2008 at 11:40 pm

Just a quick tip for the pally: Melee dps should attack from either the back or the hips if it tail swipes. If the boss/mob parry its next attack is faster (faster attacks = more dmg = dead tank = party wipe). The best way to know where should you be are pets. Thats ofc if the pet positioning system isn’t bugged like in this episode. (cat got swiped)

    P.S. I can haz cookie?

By Antonio on Friday, December 12th, 2008 at 4:23 pm

NVM about the aggro addon question. I found it in an earlier episode. “Omen” rocks. Thanks.

By Joe on Friday, December 12th, 2008 at 8:41 pm

FYI, Hunters are being nerfed, and yes your pet was prob doing more DPS then you. BM are nothing w/o the pet. MM FTW

    (Cel Lvl 80 Hunter)

By Bel on Friday, December 12th, 2008 at 10:33 pm

Not to be rude, but Lylelovet has got to be one of the worst tanks I’ve seen, not to mention that he seems to be pretty arrogent. On another note he doesn’t bring any entertainment to the show as the other 3-4 do. I’d say have bastosa tank and goggins heal :). After all this show is about entertainment more than it is about WoW itself. Sorry if I’m out of line.

By Honestdude on Saturday, December 13th, 2008 at 9:05 pm

I feel bad. Theres no need for marking anymore. WoW has become so easy, all you really need to do is get Lylelovett to charge, TC and shockwave and get everybody to AoE things down. No strategic pulls. No need for good CC. Everything in Northrend is easymode. The only interesting part of WoW is the boss fights, and I’d really like Project Lore return to its original format of only boss fights.

PS. Jeff u gotta spam judgements, crusader strikes, divine storms etc. Dont just auto attack…. wth

By wtf on Monday, December 15th, 2008 at 3:35 am

this is dumb, go back to fastforwarding thru trash then showing boss fights…taking 3 weeks to show finish 1 instance is dumb

especially since you’ve already shown us this one

By Central on Monday, December 15th, 2008 at 3:49 am

Blame dorkins for Hunter nerf :wtc:
