Episode 10.3: Karazhan
Project Lore and pals climb the twisting and turning stairs toward the next boss in Karazhan, the Curator. Will the Project Lore crew get past this arcane custodian or will they get the shock of their life? Watch and find out.
The regular heroes managed to sucker five other members of the Totally Rad Guild into helping out with the raid. Here are the armories for everyone involved: DrDark, Lylelovett, Goggins, Dorkins, Xenophontos, Manifesto, Talonni, Bastosa, Wyche, and Wilx. There are still plenty of bosses who have loot for our team, so find out what happens over the next few episodes!
Remember that our subscribe page has links for Project Lore all over the web. You can use our Episodes RSS feed or Twitter to find out when new episodes are out, and don’t forget to join our Facebook Group, Facebook Page, and MySpace.
More boss fights through Thursday at Noon Pacific, and Alexis will wrap things up on Friday, so tune in!

Malthe, thank you for your contribution to the site. /Sarcasim
I have a question. I play a hunter and I have never been in Kara before, but I would like to try it soon. Would it help to toss a viper sting on Curator to send him to evocate stage faster or does he have way too much mana for that to be effective?
By Talonni on Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 at 12:38 pm
The netherwhelp pet is mine.

By Gerandor on Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 at 12:45 pm
Love these videos, and the best thing is that the recent ones have been very long, which is a good thing
the WotLK ones werent very long.. but yeah, i dont think theres much to say.. Cant really improve this episode..
By Docmaxim on Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 at 12:52 pm
BTW we have found that the best way to know whats coming up next in this battle is to count the astral flares. There are 10 astral flares then evocate… rinse, repeat.
By boromier on Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 at 1:00 pm
Love this boss. Just tossing this in but it sometimes helps to have the tank keep curator to the left side by the 2nd pillar and the healers/range dps to the right near the 1st pillar on that side thus allowing the melee dps to have a straight line to go after the flares making them quicker to take out. Krizan, i’m fairly sure that the curator is immune to viper sting but not the other stings. Hope this helps.
By Candarius on Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 at 1:15 pm
It is good to note for Arcane Mages and Balance Druids that he is immune to arcane. Nothing I hate more than casting a Starfire and forgetting that and wasting mana. Basically Mages need to use Ice/Fire Spells and Druids Spam Wrath.

This has nothing to do with Karazhan but is there ever gonna be a Magister’s Terrace vid? I’ve done it several times and the second boss is always a pain that gets us wiped at least once. Never had a group last long either, but thats a different issue.
p.s. Scilla on US needs more horde lvl 70s
p.s.s. for the horde and the project lore dudes.

By Torsha on Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 at 2:15 pm
Goggins… I want your monitor. Even though I never look at the back of my monitor, I want that monitor haha.
As for Curator - at about 55seconds until Evocate have your Warlock throw up Curse of Doom. It’s easy to get a 15k+ hit on him that way and guarantee your warlock will continue taking the Bolts.
Grats on the T4 gloves.
Loved the Flash Gordon parody.
By tyki mikk on Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 at 2:37 pm
that was a great episode, alot funner than the midnight one. It was kinda weird how you guys censor half the swears tho O.o
By Grido on Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 at 2:42 pm
Whats the mod the compares the item to what you have now (shows under tool tip). I noticed it in this episode.
By Talonni on Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 at 3:20 pm
@Torsha
The warlock was throwing up CoD 59 seconds before evocate phase but even without he had no issues staying second on the aggro list. He had to hold back as to not pull aggro and tank Curator himself in all honesty. Talking about myself in the third person is really weird.
By NeoEvincar on Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 at 5:12 pm
any special reason you completely edited out the evocate phase? you shown the astral flare phase, with curator being at 95+% then one astral flare later he is at less then 20%, and didn’t show the evocation phase.
Granted, I understand why you cut the boss short, with your strategy, would probably be a 10+ minute fight lol.
Just woulda been helpful to show all phases of the fight.
By ubopgrader on Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 at 5:47 pm
OK i was doing this boss yesterday night and we were doing very well and be had him at 3% and all the sudden i start to lag everything freezes and i DC!!!!don’t get to roll on my T4 gloves AHHHH i was so mad!!!

I really miss the old version of “Previously on project looooore” where it was enunciated when said. I just don’t feel any heart in the new commentator.
By Juggynaut on Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 at 6:28 pm
Neo, are you sure? I’ve watched the episode plenty of times (and I happened to be there) and there was nothing cut out of the boss fight. You may have been watching flare health bars. As far as I saw, during the first evocate he went down to about 30% and before he had a chance to do a second evocation, he broke into his berserk phase or whatever.

By Enteri on Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 at 8:38 pm
Can’t warlocks pet remove curse?
Pally tanks and warlocks seed of corruption work great on pull before curator.
On curator we have shadow priest as second aggro for mana regen purposes.
We all spread out and move away from flares if we dont have aggro.
A lot better strategy on the boss this time.

@chickenlord
So if I say that there are kids who watch this and that MANY people still believe in not using profanity, are you just going to write me off as well those others? The way I see it, “no profanity” is the default in society (whether it be online or RL), not ” you!”.

That last bit in the first paragraph was supposed to say “(censored) you!” Got left out, somehow. >_>
By Travesor on Thursday, October 9th, 2008 at 1:02 am
Hi,
I love to finally see you guys getting along in Kara, keep it up!
I have a tip for the round statue room before Curator…
Healers standing in the room very often get “out of line of sight”. I once stood up on the statues foot and that went pretty nice. Since then we always have all casters up on the foot. This means nobody is ever “out of line of sight” and the mobs have to move down every time giving the healers more time and tanks time to re-aggro.
By Tyson Hauser on Thursday, October 9th, 2008 at 1:31 am
Hey guys was watching Episode 10.3 the new Karazhan one, and realized at time frame 8 minutes and 25 seconds you guys missed a “censor” beep when Lyle says well the F word.
Other then that LOVE the episodes been watching since day 1.
By Torsha on Thursday, October 9th, 2008 at 4:45 am
@Talonni
Maybe Torsha missed it or something, but he never saw it. Good on you though for putting it up
And if it makes you feel better, Torsha talks about himself in the third person almost never. He’s weird when he starts talking about himself in third person. Torsha suggests you tell him to stop.
By Aventinus on Thursday, October 9th, 2008 at 6:49 am
I am taking my warrior alt into Kara now and I wished you could have showed more about those pulls in the curator room. Also, there was no mention of Arcane Resists or Casters keeping your distance from each other during the Astral Flares. The resists could cut a casters damage in half or more.
And I think the pally tank could have taken both Arcane Watchman - it is quite do-able.
Also, do you all use any macros/assists - they aren’t mentioned if you do.
By Kalliope on Thursday, October 9th, 2008 at 7:02 am
@Krizan
He has too much mana for it to do anything. And even if he didn’t, he is immune to viper sting, mana burns, and mana drains. It’s still a good question for a hunter to ask, since bosses/adds aren’t always immune (first boss of MagT, for example, which makes a big difference).

the resone for the blue berrys attack the heals is every time they bink it drops all threat

keep it up you guys are really showing how much fun you can have playin WoW wish i could run stuff with u guys
By Chris on Thursday, October 9th, 2008 at 5:29 pm
just an fyi. if you have a warrior off-tank, it is somewhat possible to tank the flares. they really hate shield slam for some reason.
so just have the ranged dps back towards the wall and the OT/rogues in the middle of curator and the wall. shield slam as the flare goes by the OT and most of the time the flare will change aggro to that OT.
works well for us and the ranged dps love it.
By Chris on Thursday, October 9th, 2008 at 5:33 pm
@Aventinus as a warrior tank and from experience pulling curator in that room the only advice i will stress is wait for curator to walk away from the door before pulling. pref. around the corner. his “front” walking towards you is a HUGE aggro radius. i mean HUGE…almost half the hallway.
By Togarox on Friday, October 10th, 2008 at 7:24 pm
I think this is the 1st time that Lylelovett talked more than goggins..
By Paradath on Saturday, October 11th, 2008 at 9:13 am
Keep in mind fellas, the T4 token can be redeemed for some S1, so it’s not always a roll for T4!
Don’t let tokens go to waste.

By Andreas on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008 at 10:42 pm
In the room before Curator at the mana leechers, they are the once that kills Manifesto, since if you attack the mana leechers before the big guy is dead, they will not only drain mana but they will all go for the healers. So when you attack the small ones before the big one is dead, all of the aggro is redirected to the healer, and that’s why Manifesto always die.
Me and my guild, Pew Pew Lazor on TM are always nuking the big guy first and let the small leechers just drain mana, then as soon as the big guy is dead, we start AoEing the small once. That way the healers will stay up. We always had ppl in the beggining that attacked the leechers anyway, though we have said it to them like 5 million times, so those leechers became a mark of karazhan for us, and we joked alot about it xD.
And what is the addon called, that you are using where you can see the difference from the status difference from the item you are wearing and the one that drops?
