Episode 10.1: Karazhan

Project Lore and pals head deeper into Karazhan and discover some ghostly class at the Opera. As you may have guessed, though Project Lore doesn’t know yet, it’s Big Bad Wolf Time. Will Project Lore get eaten up or run away like a little red riding hooded girl? Watch and find out.

As Karazhan is a 10-man raid, the guys wrangled in five members of the Totally Rad Guild to help them out. Here are the armories for everyone involved: DrDark, Lylelovett, Goggins, Dorkins, Xenophontos, Manifesto, Talonni, Bastosa, Wyche, and Wilx. Everybody is ready for all of the bosses, so let’s see how things go.

    Just wanted to post a tip which most hunter will know about this fight . If the hunter becomes little red riding hood he can FD and loose all argo. So you can actually just walk around as little red riding hood … It’s awesome !!!

    aww man!

    Wish you guys would have pointed out that the wolf slayer rifle is the third best weapon in the game for a BM hunter, with the crossbow of relentless strikes (for 150 badges from the isle’s badge vendor) is the second best BM hunter weapon in the game. (the legendary bow off of KJ is the best, but good luck getting that one!)

    And in case someone doesn’t know why, with the BM steady shot macro (for getting the most dps out of that spec) with the haste talent in BM, you want a bow no faster then 3.0, with 2.7-2.8 being the perfect bow.

    I have to say I am a little disappointed that your not explaining any of the trash pulls. In your 5 man videos you at least have blurbs about tough pulls, and many trash pulls in Kara are crazy tough. The ushers for instance can wipe you easy if you don’t know how to do them. If your not going to speed up the trash then explain it.

    1 way to make this particular boss easier is to position the boss in the corner next to the door you came in and the raid in the opposite corner. This allows more reaction time for the average raid member by using the stage scenery to slow the boss just enough.

    @Cory - Ahh, the double standard on girls :) A little uneven when they cut out some of the poking fun that was at me and the others - and the fact we weren’t able to really talk back.

    hey you guys need to eather say what your doing during the trash and how to fight them or fast forward threw like you used to it cuz its boring and your videos have less content, some times you guys crack jokes which is fun to watch but i don’t think you guys ment project lore to be a comedy. do what you did before where you talked about tanking and totums and other stuff maby talk about professions or specific classes like druids or pallys or rogues or maby your rotations of spells or what mods you recomend or specs and states/gear you would need for it, idk i just feal like your videos should have more information in them. im just trying to give you guys some constructive criticism, hope i helped

    just a nb for NeoEvincar - u dont pick the Bow for the macro you pick the macro for the Bow.

    Even big kitty refrences several other rotations (the site dorkins posted) check it out =)

    -btw I couldnt help but look for this BT ‘jake’ guy ,ok fyi I am, none of this i dont wanna be arrogant crap. you dont have to be, u wanna help peeps improve go see if u can find a guild hitting kara that will actuly take ut help if ur like that to them!

    EVERY SINGLE TIME I feigned death on BBW, it got resisted and I died, so I gave up, so now I just run, lol.

    Wyche! I posted this on Wowhead’s comments too, but I’ll repeat here in case you don’t read over there. Re: females playing healers, yes, that’s true to a certain extent, but there are plenty out there who roll as dps. What I personally don’t see a lot of are females rolling tanks, and most of the ones who do roll as bears. (I’m not sure why that is….maybe the fur and general cuteness of druids in animal forms.)

    And at the risk of repeating myself, I’ll sum up for Dorkins: DUDE, you should have taken the rifle!!!!!! It’s probably a little on the late side to petition the GMs to transfer the rifle (assuming Lyle would be so kind), but hey, you never know. T_T I knew it was coming when I saw it listed in the gear dropped on the Wowhead page, but Dorkins didn’t have it on his armory. Arrrrgh. I can’t speak for the boots from Moroes that DrDark passed on (since my rogue isn’t quite 70 yet, so I haven’t looked at rogue gear so much), but this is an absolute heartbreaker as a hunter.

    I wish you would have mentioned that on the first set trash pulls. Everyone should stay below the OT in threat as he will ice the MT and go to the second on threat.
    That is some of the info that I’m sure some of your viewers are looking for.

    I must say the Crossbow off Attumen is a far cry better than the Wolf’s Sniper Rifle, although the rifle looks soooo much cooler. I have both and seem to do mas damage with the crossbow.

    neitherspite and nightbane are the most difficult boss if your guild has trouble with coordination.

    I did OZ this weekend and i think it is the worst fight in Kara i would rather do Nightbane 3 times before i do OZ of course like most of my runs we did not finish we stopped at the curator he is what did my group in after we downed Nightbane with no wipes well i love the show keep it up and would love to figure out how to put them on my Ipod oh well good luck and kick ass

    Good strategy on the boss.

    One thing I would have added is that when the mobs before Oprah drop the spot light its generally a good idea for the tank to move them out of that spot light. If you are a melee class and can stand in the spotlight it helps your damage.

    I can’t believe you had a warlock and a pally tank and didn’t pull all the mobs before Oprah. If you are still working on getting your rings for Kara its a good idea to kill those mobs as they give gobs of reputation.

    ok one tip for the rogue, dont do that noob moves on red ridinghood 1st of all ROGUES can vanish if they become red ridinghood that will remove aggro from you( mages can iceblock ^^)

    and moving imparing efects doesnt work on boss

    PS:on maiden be sure that you have your healers in the same place so when stun comes your tank should pull maiden near healers so that AOE dmg can free your healers from stun this is tip for the warrior

    Have tanked all of Kara and another tip as a prot warrior or even just warrior for big bad wolf is to Intervene on Big Bad wolf when he is chasing the raid member who is Little Red Riding Hood because if hood lags or hits a wall and gets hit….you absorb that dmg….unless they have nerfed it? :P

    I am a lifetime horde with 4 70’s and have become board with many of the horde side stuff only because i have nearly 250 days played horde side i was curious what server you guys are on it seems like a fun group and if i ever was going to roll alliance i would want to roll on your sever.

    Wow, another great episode of romping through Kara; again not much on tactics though, so if i may i would like to let the readers know some of the few tricks i use on my Prot War while tanking this bit of the dungeon.

    To begin with, those nasty Undead Ushers can get a pain in the typical behind while freezing your MT/OT, easily one-hiting clothies in the meantime.
    So if your tank is a war, it is important for him to know that the Ushers usualy will him with a “Frost Shock” spell, followed after a few seconds by the “Frost Tomb”. Be prepared and after you have suffered frost shock debuff, pop “Spell Reflection” and you’ll be safe. On the other side pally tanks i guess can go bubble+rightouss defence to taunt the undead. This way you’re all gonna be safe.

    Moving on to the boss fight..

    Intervene is an excelent way of keeping RRW alive and blizz hasn’t nerfed it. I’m glad he brought that up, as with the spells cooldown, there many a blows that Intervene can cover up, things that bop and pw:s lack for.
    As far as slowing down BBW, i’m not certain if anything works other then mage’s Slow spell, however a haste pot would come in handy i presume, if it stacks that is.

    And Ni! don’t cut the corners unless you have a date with death.

    I think that was basicaly everything, you had that stage part pretty much rapped up, the pulls aren’t hard there, just watch your Omens.

    Most of the time when you are going with a guild or a group that does it consistently, you don’t even need a rogue or hunter to find out what the opra is. You just listen to the words and then you know what the plan is from there.

    I love the big bad wolf. Of the 3, this is my favorite by far. I have been in a fight with the Big Bad Wolf, where the whole group had all died due to the little red riding hood chase, and we ended up beating him because of a snake trap set at the last moment. It was priceless.

    That is epic epic win. xD Reminds me of the first time I saw Vashj die, there was one person up (possibly DIed, but I forget - it was a healer for sure) and a dot tick killed her. Pretty much everyone was dead, but thrilled, lol.

    Hey her’re a heads up from Hunter to Hunter next time that rifle drops grab it! Your a dwarf wich means +1% to crit with Guns it also has a faster shot rotation than that Sunfury bow peice of junk. When it’s staked with The Abasscus of Violent odds and Rapid Fire it means the Hunter Turns Up the Heat! A little trick I use in pvp and pve Plus if you have your Beastial Wrath macroed to your trinket it creates Uber DPS wich makes boss fights really easy. Check it out i’m not T5 for nothing…
