Gr8 vid, specially the melee hunters =P
On my first time playing Hunter(not recently, but years), I thought that if I were in melee range, it was something “natural” to swing axes, so I kept doing that, but then I researched, to find out that that’s not what Hunters do.
But the only thing I do when I get in melee range now is Wing Clip.

BRK comes through again with another amazing vid! Showing living proof that other huntards are still melee-ing even at lvl 80 (yikes). i can tell you this vid had me cracking up left and right-not to mention how much incredibly useful info is in each of these posts! every hunter needs to watch them

Anyone ever notice how BRK is like the bob ross of WOW the way he talks….i dont mean that in a bad way i LOVED bob ross when i was a kid it was funny.

But i think is making me a better hunter, which is good considering i just started WOW today and rolled Night Elf Hunter.

That huntard at the end was just…I dunno…man, it was awful…a level 80 hunter doing melee?…
Now, I know this series is far from ending, but, it would be a cool thing if we had more awesome guides like this, I mean, like shaman guides, druid guides, and so on…

I am a hunter, and I melee for a good reason. There only 3 ranged weapons (bow, gun, and crossbow,) and I want the 4 weapon skills at 400 achievement…but aside from that, awesome video.

I agree with yakface.
Although a level 80 Hunter should never be meleeing except in the direst of circumstances there is also the matter of getting our different weaponskills up if only the get the Master at Arms achievemement.

As a side note Blizz does give us hunters several melee attacks in any spec as well as some survivals spec skills like deflection, counterattack and Savage strikes.

These are useless if we were never meant to do any melee. Disengage is fun and good but a or several well placed Wingclip(s) works miracles in some cases.

For the rest the series is a eye opener for me as a level 80 huntard. If I ever revamp my plans for a Blood Elf Ranger (i.e. petless hunter) the advice will come in handy.

Speaking of 3 hunter range weapon, I was wondering If Blizz is going to make a Rocket Launcher kind of weapon, I mean, engineers can make rocket launching gloves and there are vehicles (raid) that launch rockets to destroy stuff, so when is hand-held/shoulder-mounted rocket launcher gonna come up? We have guns practically big enough already to be a rocket launcher after all

“you may be saying hunters need to be an gun range al the time

well its also a good idea to level melee skill or your gonna be in trouble in some places in northrend like storm peaks

fighting iron dwarfs on brann’s airplane

me doing it wrong has enouth melee skill to do damage and complete quest you who has bin using his gun and bow since level 1 will have low melee skill and fail that quest every time because you cant range in that fight and thus making the plane crash

kk keep in mind though, some of us are doing melee for the achievments at lvl 80. That doesn’t explain the enchants though. Don’t assume every time you see someone doing that way it’s becasue they don’t know any better.

I usually pick mobs in a relatively safe area that are quite a bit lower than myself.

But yeah, doing it on a reg. basis, not smart.

Your videos a of pretty nice quality, however I feel must comment on your choice of putting down other hunters down, just because this is the way you play the class, doesn’t mean that any other way is wrong. If blizzard meant for hunter never to use melee they would have not given them melee abilities.

NIce video and while I agree w/ you on learning to kite (at least by lvl 70 you should at least be using Misdirection on your pet to keep things away) I sometimes melee just to lvl my skills (polearm, sword, dagger, etc.). So just seeing a hunter not kite doesn’t mean they are being a huntard. Indeed they may have a good reason to choose melee.

Would love to see a great keybinding video…

I, for one, can’t seem to figure out the interface at all.

Perfectly right having to melee on that one, no other way to do it.

Another example is the The Drakkensryd quest.
No way to use ranged either, luckily my weaponskill was as high as it could have been at that point.

Actually in one of the dueling quests (Taking on All Challengers) i went in melee mode as well and dismissed the pet. Being in Vrykull form it felt right doing it that way even if a true melee class would have done much better. Those shieldslams were annoying.

Ow yeah. I got the White riding bear the first time I did that one as a daily, awesome.

Nice vids and Huntardism is a problem we hunters that use our strength in ranged attacks see on a daily basic, but don’t be to hard on that 80. Maybe he’s trying to get his skill up for the achievement………. then again maybe not. BTW nice skirt.

these videos were really educational for me; since i played warrior first when it came to playing my first hunter alt strafing and kiting seemed like cowardice to me so I used to be a huntard and melee but now I know the right way and knowing is half the battle in the world of warcraft ^_^
