By Suite on Sunday, March 15th, 2009 at 3:35 pm

I love that I can catch BRK movies here now too. Just started watching Project Lore this week, and I think I’ve burned through all the videos. You guys are great.

Great video, I will study and master your videos so I will not become a huntard, though I am about 40 lvls higher.

By Alex van Almelo on Sunday, March 15th, 2009 at 4:03 pm

I have a question, can you effectively kite a mob (hypothetically) as far as you please? keeping in mind 1) the mob is still alive and 2) you keep the DoT up.

By Illithian on Sunday, March 15th, 2009 at 4:35 pm

Alex, although I haven’t tested this, I do believe after running far enough the mob will eventually pull off you UNLESS you augment your DoT with arcane shot and other forms of damage. If you augment your DoT with other types of damage, I think there is still an eventual limit to how far you can kite it, but hypothetically you could probably kite it back to a town to have guards kill it.

By Illithian on Sunday, March 15th, 2009 at 5:08 pm

Update: A little more research proves you can kite indefinitely. http://www.frm.nu/dump/20/HoggerSTRATHOLME.jpg

Is it me, or does Big Red Kitty sound like Jim Cramer from Mad Money on CNBC?

By Dein on Sunday, March 15th, 2009 at 6:20 pm

When the serpent sting, OH TREE lmao..

By Aldei on Sunday, March 15th, 2009 at 6:33 pm

Less huntard, more pew pew! And BRK is doing just that :D Let’s hope will have less huntards around and more hunter pros :D

By thedpsking on Sunday, March 15th, 2009 at 6:35 pm

lol @ Illithian, never thought of doing that :)

By Acid on Sunday, March 15th, 2009 at 6:46 pm

I really like your videos BRK, I am somewhat perturbed by your ‘Mr. Roger’ style of speaking as this is mostly common knowledge but I only can assume you will ramp up the lessons to higher level techniques and lessons. For now I guess I’ll just have to shout out loud like those kids in Blues Clues for the time being.

By Balius on Monday, March 16th, 2009 at 5:46 am

Some enemies are infinitely kiteable, others are “leashed” to a spot, and will return to the area you found them if they get too far away from it. You can still kite in a wide circle,

I’m not certain, but I think enemies weren’t leashed until Burning Crusade’s release, so you’ll see a lot more enemies in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms that don’t care how far from home they are.

By Vixis on Monday, March 16th, 2009 at 8:16 am

Wow kiting dear old Hogger to the gates of Stratholme?

    Great job.

By Jenjen on Monday, March 16th, 2009 at 11:14 am

I love these videos, I have a hunter and I have to admit, I’m not very good at trapping so i can’t wait to see a video about that

By yotachy on Monday, March 16th, 2009 at 12:38 pm

    this guy sounds like caboose

By Dibullba on Monday, March 16th, 2009 at 1:19 pm

    @alex
no they will not pull off as long as a dot stays up on them at all times, during the moon festival you would have hunters (horde side btw) kite Omen all the way from Moonglade to Orgrimmar. Also, it resets there range circumference (fancy words for how far they will run b4 they go back) so if ur still alive and youve kited him all the way to Orgrimmar and then die after some1 else attacks it, its aggro will not reset until there is no aggro on it. But if it does reset and ur all the way in Orgrimmar, it will become immune to damage thus eliminating aggro and will return to its desiganted programmed position rather than staying in its reset range circumference.

BRK’s been blogging and doing vids for some time, and you can probably still find his old ones on bigredkitty.net, or go to his youtube channel:
    http://www.youtube.com/user/bigredkitty

But it’s good to see him on Project Lore now too. I’m sure we’ll see him ramp up the vids for more lvl 80+ content..

By Jonathan on Monday, March 16th, 2009 at 3:41 pm

By Angel on Monday, March 16th, 2009 at 9:46 pm

    Call me amused.

    /wave

If it were me and I did the number of /wave as BRK, I’d have keybound it or something by now. :)

By Blight on Tuesday, March 17th, 2009 at 9:48 am

Well, Dorkins just needs to remember not to send Jimmy to attack bosses before the group is ready… “Jimmy NO!”

However, it still makes for great laughs when he does.

Glad to see BRK on Project Lore.

This guide is for complete morons, thanks for breaking down the simplest of game mechanics. If you can’t figure this out on your own, as most is explained through reading in game or just your own perception then you are another product of America’s failed education system. Also I hate this guy’s voice, though his unwittingly condescending inflection is fitting for the people who actually find this helpful.

By Convalesce on Tuesday, March 17th, 2009 at 10:18 am

i agree about the condescending tone in his voice… it’s rather annoying. i’m sure everyone loves being talked to like kindergarten kids. /sigh

By Reyson on Tuesday, March 17th, 2009 at 11:16 am

don’t react so stupid about it, it’s called BABY hunter, and he’s acting as if talking to a baby, duh. Also, you don’t have to watch something about new hunters if it’s not intresting for you. The things he says can be quite useful(the sideways shooting/running for example)

By Convalesce on Tuesday, March 17th, 2009 at 1:38 pm

“don’t react so stupid about it, it’s called BABY hunter”

yet he talks like that in every video. and react stupid? lol, ok.

By Mark on Tuesday, March 17th, 2009 at 5:51 pm

Alex you have to do “active” damage to keep the mob from resetting. Serpent sting is “passive” damage. Using “jump shots” you can kite a mob forever. (rank 1 arcane shot if you have to kite for a long distance and are worried about killing it)

By Sidias on Thursday, March 19th, 2009 at 4:19 pm

BRK kind of reminds me of Bob Ross.
I keep waiting for him to say “lets shoot a happy little serpent sting”.

    You be the judge:
