Blue poster Zarhym on Wednesday night announced some pretty huge mount changes coming up for the next major content patch, 3.2. You’ll be able to learn your apprentice, journeyman and expert riding skills all considerably earlier than before and at a reduced cost. As an added bonus, regular flying mounts now will fly at 150% speed, instead of 60%. All of this, Zarhym said, is “to further improve the leveling experience in World of Warcraft.”

Here’s the breakdown of changes to cost and level requirements, according to what Zarhym posted, with my own notes in italics:

  • Apprentice Riding (Skill 75)
    • 60% land mount speed
    • Requires level 20 - a whole 10 levels earlier
    • Cost: 4 gold - way down from 35g
    • Mount cost: 1 gold - instead of 10g
    • Mail will be sent to players at level 20 guiding them to the riding trainer
  • Journeyman Riding (Skill 150)
    • 100% land mount speed
    • Requires level 40 - OMG 20 levels sooner!
    • Cost: 50 gold - currently 600g
    • Mount cost: 10 gold - down from 100g
    • Mail will be sent to players at level 40 guiding them back to the riding trainer
  • Expert Riding (Skill 225)
    • 150% flying mount speed instead of 60%; 60% land mount speed
    • Requires level 60 - Previously level 70
    • Cost: 600 gold (faction discounts now apply) - currently 800g
    • Mount Cost: 50 gold - down from 100g
    • Can now be learned in Honor Hold (Alliance) or Thrallmar (Horde)
  • Artisan Riding (Skill 300)
    • 280% flying mount speed; 100% land mount speed
    • Requires level 70
    • Cost: 5,000 gold (faction discounts now apply)
    • Mount Cost: 100 gold - instead of 200g

And, after getting lots of questions from other posters about Cold Weather Flying, Zarhym replied that at least that much will “remain unchanged.”

It looks to me like these changes will help leveling go quite a bit faster, especially when in many of the wide, open spaces common throughout Azeroth. Not to mention the zones in Outland, too! AND the huge price slashes will mean that it’s much less of a hardship for players to pay for mounts, especially for those poor alts. Most people in the forums seem to be pretty ecstatic about the announcement, but there are plenty also who are starting to say that the changes are catered toward the casual player (or that they should have been implemented xx months ago!). But these changes will affect everyone across the board - and in my opinion, it’s all for the good. It’s not about being lazy when leveling - it’s about enjoying the game. And I think for a lot of us, mounts are fun.

Zarhym also announced that the casting time for summoning all mounts will go from its current 3 seconds down to 1.5 seconds. Which, to me, equals a greater chance that I’ll be able to get my mount out in time after breaking stealth and before getting attacked. And maybe you also can successfully escape any other baddies heading your way before entering combat. I guess that would “improve the leveling experience” in my book.

Add this to all the other changes coming for Call of the Crusade, and a new battleground, and I’m just giddy. So what does everyone else think about these upcoming changes? FTW? Or FTL?

OMFG That is going to be awesome. I’m sick of having to run around so slow with my alts. Im really happy they are putting the beginner flying skill trainable at lvl 60 and with a 150% flight speed. 60% was just stupid anyway, and its all gonna be cheaper!! I only wonder if you will be able to get class specific mounts earlier too (ex: Felsteed and the Paladin mount). But like you said its all gonna be for the good! Big Mount Changes for Patch 3.2 FTW!!!

By Dalinus on Wednesday, June 10th, 2009 at 9:02 pm

my goodness, i chose the perfect day to decide to level an alt( going away for a huge part of summer, pretty sure the patch will hit by then)

By Rulaberry on Wednesday, June 10th, 2009 at 9:04 pm

    Awesome! And first

By Dillweed on Wednesday, June 10th, 2009 at 9:05 pm

Dude thats awesome. 150% speed at expert. finally my alts that dont have enough money for epic flight have some speed

By Amatera on Wednesday, June 10th, 2009 at 9:09 pm

Gotta admit. I love it. Yeah, sure, I’d like retroactive discounts on all my current characters, but alts can still benefit!

By Maltreth on Wednesday, June 10th, 2009 at 9:38 pm

Thats awsome….. after I spent the last couple of weeks busting my a$$ to buy epic flying for my alt … /rawr

By BobCharabini on Wednesday, June 10th, 2009 at 10:05 pm

    @ Rulaberry: Fail.

It’s nice for alts, but I want my fucking money back.

By Mizos on Wednesday, June 10th, 2009 at 10:25 pm

sweet my lvl 20 rouge alt is happy now…but my lvl 80 hunter wants some refunds lol

By Cuppincakes on Wednesday, June 10th, 2009 at 10:28 pm

I want a talent or spell for ghost wolf to increase my speed by 100% instead of 60 in lieu of a gold refund for mounts and riding skill purchases. KTHXBAI.

No, really. I’m glad I haven’t bothered to level my alts, because I’d be right on the cusp of these new changes. It happened to me the first time with my main. Not…fun. Yay for everyone else though.

By Alayea on Wednesday, June 10th, 2009 at 11:27 pm

Well, the drop in gold costs is nice… and the 150% flying speed instead of 60%… but I have mixed feelings about the level being dropped yet again for apprentice riding. I can understand the level for basic riding being dropped to 60 since by the time you hit 70, you ought to be in Northrend (where you can’t fly until you’re 77 anyway).

Just as a sidenote question, what’ll it mean for Ghost Wolf? Learn it at level 10?

By Alayea on Wednesday, June 10th, 2009 at 11:35 pm

“…the level for basic riding being dropped to 60″

Sorry, that should’ve said “flying” not “basic riding”.

By Madeinisrael on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 12:24 am

a 150% flying mount at 60….woah, if we’ll be getting another expansion we might get 60% mounts at level 10 :P .

By 5oren on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 12:33 am

Flyingmount at lvl 60??? Hip-hip hurray!

By Irishi on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 12:54 am

As much as I love the changes, I’m still unhappy about the class specific mounts/flight form quest chains being thrown by the wayside. Let us enjoy some of the lore Blizz, for the love. You people are getting paid mucho bucks over there. Throw in a new quest line at corresponding levels for Paladin and Warlock 100% land mounts and druid’s Flight Form.
Warlocks could go through Desolace and Orange side of Maraudon, or even Blasted Lands. Plenty of Demons there.
Doesn’t seem to be any Scourge ridden area at level 40ish for the pally quest, but I’m sure something could be thought up. Maybe Scarlet Monastery.
Druid Flight form could be a chain through Cenarion Expedition in the beginnings of Zangar, taking you through Slave Pens. Possibly even starting in Azeroth with Cenarion Circle Quests. Could work.

By Lurosa on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 1:30 am

Ah come on, you have to be kidding me.
Why are they now making these changes :\ I now have tons of 80 with Artisan Riding and now they are gonna say that i could have save tons of gold >.> laaaameeeeee

By Sam on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 2:22 am

This is stupid. I have paid over 15000g over my alts for training for mounts. I don’t care about getting a refund but this will just turn the game into easier-mode. I thought blizzard wanted people to still see old content? Don’t know about you, but i’m still leveling on my alts in Outland using ground mount.

By Ryan on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 2:36 am

All I have to say is: FTL.

By Ben on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 3:05 am

This is good but very lame since i just spent the full price on Epic riding for my rogue alt and its soon very cheap and with the money i could of bout normall riding skill ;/

By Xian on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 3:14 am

Awesome. I love this idea. I just wish I could get a refund on my main’s epic flight. Well, hopefully the patch will hit before I have the gold for my hunter alt’s epic flight. Could save me a ton of gold if I grind her reps fast enough.

By Quetlan of Bloodhoof on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 3:18 am

Oh come on, you got to be kidding me… if you change the lvl for 60%mounts then you have to change the lvl of travelform for druid and shaman or the speed. What use do these spells have if that isn’t changed?
And don’t drop flying to lvl 60 but to lvl 65.

I’m all for faster lvl’ing but that is what the BoA items are for.
Leave the lvl’s the same but the drop in prices are just fine :)

By Dyra on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 3:34 am

Holy moly. Like half the people here I also paid the full amount for epic flying, but I’m liking the reduction in the prices for mounts. I want my red dragonhawk :(.

I’m ok with the level changes as well, pretty much insta flying in Outland and faster riding at 40 when it really starts to get tedious crossing zones on the slow mount, but the druid and shaman travelform speeds need to be increased to match. I like seeing cheetahs and ghost wolves running around.

By Lowping the Shaman on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 4:25 am

I like the fact all the people who are voting in the “FTL” column only complaint is “I paid full amount, it’s not fair that other don’t pay the same!!”

Heck I’ve done the same bought most of my characters epic riding and epic flying and I do NOT begrudge newer players or alts this change. Grow up people!.

By Sathas on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 4:50 am

    I’m speechless….

Although I think this is a great change, I just bought epic flying training on both my 80s yesterday… >.<

looks like I’m going to have to level another character just to take advantage of these changes =P

By Brokenwing on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 5:57 am

likewise, awesome idea just wish it came a little sooner before I dumped most my gold into it lol

By Deathlobster on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 6:07 am

God dammit. FTL I want my money back lol.

By WNxManiacMan on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 6:29 am

I would say FTL. Blizzard should try to make people play more, not less. After the changes you can get mounts without grinding or getting proffesions and even the biggest noobs and goldbeggers can afford it too. At least they’re not changing much for level 80s, except the loss of 850g or more by having the mounts allready, which ain’t a small amount, even for the rich people.

By Addz on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 6:36 am

Just a note to anyone moaning about wanting their money back or having “wasted money” on mounts - where have you been?? with all the dailys & farming, gold is stupidly easy to come accross these days anyway on my realm I can easily make 1k+ a day with very little effort just time, so please stop moaning about “wanting a refund” for your level 80’s!!

Its all about the lower casual players & I think this makes it much easier for them so its a great thing imo - also it might (I say might) just stop some of them begging for gold for mounts! lol

By lawman30 on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 6:38 am

OMG ALL THE QQ IS HURTING MY VIRTUAL EARS!!!!

“I want my money back that I spent on riding training for all my alts!”

No. Not gonna happen. Shut the hell up about it. Are you even stopping to think about how stupid that sounds? I chalk it up to being the same as every other change they make in this game…if the change doesn’t benefit you, then you want something in return. Grow up. I don’t hear all the people runnig around on the Baron’s mount or the Winterspring Frostsaber or any of the ZG mounts screaming that Blizz should have left the drop rate/rep grind the same and that Blizz should now take their mounts away.

Please, QQers, stop. No one but you and the other QQers care about what you spent on the mounts. You want more gold? GET OFF YOUR DEAD A$$ AND EARN IT!!!

By Bucketface on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 6:42 am

    OMG OMG OMG!! WOOOOOOOOOOO

By Stanleyovicz on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 7:05 am

I quit wow a month ago, after 2 years of playing, having 3 lvl 80s on the same server (Hellfire/EU) making gold was peanuts, through that time I also created and then deleted a lot of alts, 10 or so, all in their 50s -60s so I spent a lot of gold, but i never regreted that fact, even after getting my albino drakes on 2 of my 80s (which costs a lot more time to grind reps than the actual gold) and although I sometimes cursed while I was getting owned in a BG or wiping on any of the raids, gold was never the issue for me to cry about.

By angesh on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 7:12 am

kk i like the changes i think itll make everyone happy, but do level 20’s really need mounts lol? theyve made it so easy to level that u beraly have to walk to get ur quests done:)

By Blight on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 7:24 am

LOL @ all the people asking for a refund. How about this then, if you think it’s that unfair. Blizzard goes through all the Auctions you’ve sold, and finds the lowest price you’ve sold it for, and gives everyone a refund who bought your items for more then the lowest price you’ve ever listed for. What’s this, you sold Copper Bars for 1 silver a pop pre-Jewelcrafting, but once Jewelcrafting was released, you sold it easily for 1 gold a pop?, time to return 99 silver per bar sold.

Either way, you agreed with the price when you purchased it. Maybe there was an expectation that this way okay because the price would never change, but if you thought that, then you don’t understand MMO’s very well.

It’s called early adoption, you pay more to enjoy something before it becomes more affordable. I’m sure all of you people used those mounts since you’ve paid for them to help you farm mats or gold quicker, and will still be able to use them to do so up until 3.2, whereas… if someone waits until 3.2 to make their mount purchases to save that gold, well, your not going to farm/level very well on foot.

I love these changes personally, and I look forward to them. I have a few low 50’s characters that I may actually level now. Epic Flying is still going to be expensive, but now it’s not so mandatory, and regular flying is no longer going to be maddeningly slow (unless you were a DK with certain talents or a Paladin.)

By Pekko on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 7:38 am

oh c’mon its so easy for people these days I mean I had to bay 100g for frist riding skill but now it costs 4g I mean c’mon thats not even money you can even beg that money out of players.

By Kolea on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 7:44 am

    WHAT!? I just bought level 30 riding/mounts on 3 alts >.<

By Pruben on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 8:03 am

    >( I have bought over 20 mounts/flying Mounts the last month, I earned all my money to afford expert and Artisian flying.
Now everything is getting cheaper, maybe to cheap. And journeyman at 40 and expert at 60. That is too early. I hope it is at least a year to these changes.

By Mike Fahy on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 8:26 am

i think these changes are excellent. It actually may get a level 40 paladin friend of mine to join the game again! (he quit a few months ago.)
    But…
I just bought my Rogue Alt (Level 61)’s 100% ground speed riding skill YESTERDAY…. so i wasted 600g. awesome! X(

By Talcoya on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 8:37 am

yeaaa i want my money back…..

By Dan on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 8:37 am

LOL Nice, I have two 50ish alts and a few around 40. I don’t think I will be buying flying at 60 since, I’ll just wait until 78 when I can fly in Northrend.

By Hatredy on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 8:45 am

To the people complaining about that they JUST bought something.

This update wont be around for a few months i think at the earliest it’s going in 3.2 which looks like is going to be around blizcon time. So if they would of announced this ealier would you of really waited 3 months to buy it slightly cheaper while your leveling ? i seriously doubt it so stop qqing.

I think the Quicker cast time is greate. And loving the fly speed increase now maybe people wont qq about have a 60% flying mount. And the rare flying mount at 60 should of been done months ago but glad it’s on it’s way.

By khazzhar on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 9:15 am

My main hope is that this stops some of the begging. As a high level character going through org can be the most annoying because you get these lazy level 1-20s asking for money, and even level 30s asking for mount money. However, with the training being so much cheaper, hopefully people will be able to get there own damn money.

By plfanman on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 9:28 am

    OMG CAN’T WAIT!!!

By Bloodstrong on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 9:40 am

I think this is very cool, I do hope that speeds and such are increased for Druids and Shammies. Glad the speed for flying is increasd cuz 60% is so brutally slow. Would be nice if Blizz would stop making gold such an issue so we didnt have to worry about grinding and all the overpricing. I think Warhammer does a better job with not making gold an issue or must have.

By Eventime on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 9:41 am

I like the price reduction, maybe not so much the level change (except for basic flying that’s kinda nice). I feel like all the lower level riding skills can be dropped but that epic flying should stay the same, so that still is sort of a status symbol on your dedication.

By lalaa on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 9:50 am

this makes me happy and mad at the same time cause now i can lvl a alt real quick but i feel cheated with all my mains having to lvl through all the large zones walking back and forth i bet i could lvl to 70 with all the changes in half the time it took me to get 70 the first time.

but my main is poor after lending money to a rl friend so the 150% to no epic flyer is very nice

By daf on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 9:51 am

y no price reduction to epic flyer QQ

By iDominator on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 9:54 am

its gonna suck, this game is being made waaaay to easy. Enough with the casual gamers. We know…you like the game to be easy but to the rest of the gamers who are actual gamers and want to get a bang for there buck, stop it!

By Spwany on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 9:58 am

I want my gold back if there going to do this, cuz i spent all of my gold for my mount training and now it’s cheaper . I think blizzard show give each toon over 70( and not a DK) 600g for all the mounts, and training they spent.

By Ommadon on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 10:34 am

You guys aren’t going to get a refund. Get over it. Just be happy that your alts won’t have to pay as much now for their riding training.

By Pelle on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 10:47 am

i think every1 that paid that extra should get it back, im poor and want gold :)

By Conxcore on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 11:11 am

I think this is pretty dumb actually.

Spending time farming gold for your mount really helps you in the long run so you will be better at getting gold for when your max level and need to keep up with gear, gems, enchants, etc.

And yes, we do deserve a refund! ;)

By lawman30 on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 11:18 am

    @ iDominator

Try this on for size. If you want to be an “actual gamer” then why don’t you just have your toons wait until the reach the level that riding was ORIGINALLY available at (when i started playing it was lvl 40 but it may have been even later earlier in the game) and then pay the ORIGINAL cost associated with training and buying the mount (obviously you pay the trainers/vendors what they charge and then for getting rid of the rest of the gold that it would have cost, buy something big off AH and vendor it so that you end up paying the ORIGINAL price at the ORIGINAL level since you’re and ACTUAL gamer). Then you can quit complaining about how easy the game is since you’re playing it “actual gamer” style!

    Give me a break. Quicherbichin.

By jhez on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 11:30 am

This is the best news i’ve heard all day! taken me waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long to be able to get mounts!

By iDominator on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 11:32 am

oh lawman your so cool, “pay the original price blah blah blah” they take out the quest lines for pallys, for locks, or druids and there aquatic form make them all trainable, then they lower the price of all the training and mounts and lower the levels. that takes away from all the experience of the game. they’re saying Get to 80 so people like you Lawman can casually just sit around and quest and fail at pvp wile the rest of us raid. So if you like your play style you contine right on doing it.

By Pauldy on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 11:36 am

Sweet both my bank alts are level 20, I can now ride in style from the AH to the banks and mailboxes.

By Juggynaut on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 11:38 am

Yay, I’ve been very reluctant to get that 50 mount achievement because of the cost. Now it will be 1/10 the price :)

By Pegraath on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 12:12 pm

I think level 20/40 is too low personally, and I questioned the reason for making the lock/pally mounts trainable when that was first done. If you don’t want to do the quest, fine - go get a regular mount. If you want the signature mounts of these classes you ought to earn them. Not that it’s difficult to do them with some level 80 guildmates.

The level spread of the other riding training seems fine though. I don’t mind losing all that gold - a couple hundred gold is only couple hours of dailies (which you need to do for rep for Arcanums and shoulder enchants anyway).

By Shnoo on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 12:27 pm

Does this mean druids get flight at 58? (since was 68) I just started lvling one and was curious

By The_Hamster on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 12:30 pm

I am actually happy with the change. I have ended up not being able to finish lvling toon’s because of getting bored around lvl 20’s. I figure this will help me from the monotony of walking every where in the game. To the people complaining about it being to easy to lvl now and miss alot of things. You are retarded. No one is keeping you from doing any of the lore quest, or any of that. I have lvl’d two toons max and I get bored trying to lvl my alts. I dont need to see the lore any more then I already have. Once again thank you blizz.

By Henryzx on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 1:16 pm

OMFG i want my money back
Time to bust my ass to get all the money i’m going to buy alts their new mounts
    150% FTW!!!!!

By penrose on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 1:24 pm

Lets see… you still have the 1000g at 77 - I have two characters sitting at 77 just for that reason. I want to get the CWF but I always have other things to spend all my oodles of cash on. Like tradeskills and repairs from trying to learn the Uldar fights. Dang that gets expensive over time.

    1) Love the 150% flight speed. Will really help get my 50s and 60s through outland.

    2) Reduction in Mount cost is great. Some of the outland mounts are expensive enough to cover any reduction at lower levels.

    3) I forgot what faction discounts would be… So, if it is now 5000g, and I was exalted with everyone, how much would the skill cost?

By Deaththirst on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 2:39 pm

    FTW all the way!

I’ve been strugling to get the 5.000g for Artisan since TBC! (Damn AH! lol)

I want the patch NOW! :D

By lawman30 on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 2:40 pm

    @ iDominator

That’s my point exactly! If you want to play the game one way, go ahead. You just implied in your original post that “actual gamers” would play the game one way versus another. My point is if you want things to take longer and cost more there are ways to make that possible.

And why the “your so cool” hate? I wasn’t the one coming on here saying “actual gamers” played the game in any particular fashion. That was you chief. And you might want to get your facts straight before you come on here and make posts that show how little you pay attention to things. The warlock/pally mount questlines HAVE NOT been taken out. They have simply been made optional. That way people can still do them if they want to experience the lore and flavor of them. Or if they are “actual gamers” … like you.

i love all the changes even though i agree they make the the game a bit to easy when i think back to the nightmares in original WOW, WOW has mostly removed them which i am not complaining about its the reason why i have so many alts but come on they added QH they made quest items twinkle removed most elites out side of Dungeons they cut the the level reguirements in half they have nerfed and super powered classes but no use wining about it but thiers no reason blizz cant give the veterans of this game since they cant exactly race every single piece of gold spent on mount here is what i sugest
open tabs 500g if you learned your first beginer land mount skill before patch 3.0 and then extra 100g for every year before patch 3.0 you had it then 150g if you learn your first normal land mout after the patch and 36g for every month up till this next patch 2000g if you had your first epic land skill before patch 3.0 and 500g for every year before the patch 1000g if you learned teh skill after the patch and 200g for every month up untill the next patch 5000g if you learned the skill before 3.0 1000g for every year up till the next patch 10 grand for epic flyer if learned before 3.0 andddd then 2 grand for every year up till the nex patch

lvl 20 for mounts now? well they might as well just remove ghost wolf from the game then 150% instead of 60% flying speed shoulda been there from the beginning though -_- and why not reduce the cost of epic flying :(

By cocopuff on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 2:58 pm

i know that if blizz does do that i will have more then enough for an epic flyer and more as i have had my pony before BC i got my normal flyer half way though BC and just to save some complaints i know teir gointo be thinking thats not making for the money spent on mounds and other goinot say that thats to much here is the thing if you make the the tab size to large you are really are giving away gold if you make am so small then you are not really making up for te gold lost so i tryed to find a middle ground and i think i did a preaty damn good job and FYI i am not one of the veterans i started playing a few weeks before BC i have spent about 10k on mounds for ats and the skills and i dont even have the peic flyer yat

By cocopuff on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 2:59 pm

which if anyone is confused if a fairly small amount

By moses on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 5:20 pm

well people.. you dont seem to listen to half of the other people that tell you to shut the hell up !
    seriously..
    a) nobody cares about you gold problems..
    b) the patch isnt even out for another while yet, farm your gold back and everything will be fine..
    c) this patch is meant for the more casual and layed back player.. like me personally i dont actually get to play that much so farming gold for me isnt that easy, im still in school and only get to play on the weekends due to lack of high speed..
    d) some people are actually enlightened by this considering it will make things alot easier, and just cause you’ve played forever and seem to have nothing else to do with your time, quit complaining and deal with it, blizz isnt just gonna switch it back or make things the way they used to be just because a few people are pissed that they spent a bunch of money..

so as said before.. dont get all pissy because you JUST bought your mount, the patch isnt even coming out yet.. so calm the frig down and make a sensable comment..

By gron on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 7:18 pm

    yay i want the patch
i was about to buy my normal flying mount so ill wait till the patch come :D

    ftw ill keep more money

By The_Hamster on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 9:01 pm

To all the people still complaining about refunds. Ok here is a situation for you. When you buy a car and then later in the year when they have the year end sales you can’t walk into the dealership and start demanding the extra money you spent earlier in the year back. That is just retarded.

By Ellendi on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 10:58 pm

and DKs get eaiser and easier to play. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By Rickroll on Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at 11:25 pm

I do like that mounts for my alts will be much cheaper. However, some type of compensation should be supplied to all of the qq’ers. Possibly a special in game item like an epic hanky.

By erick on Friday, June 12th, 2009 at 3:00 am

This is just idiotic. The people who only like this idea have probably been playing less than 2 yrs. Blizzard’s catering to the new players is just plain sad. I’m tired of seeing this game content being watered down to the noobs/casuals. I honestly can say I can not wait for the new SW mmo so I can cancel my WoW account.

By Chaom on Friday, June 12th, 2009 at 3:17 am

    *eye twitch*

After all the money I just spent…

By cocopuff on Friday, June 12th, 2009 at 5:36 am

with that coment you show how retarded you are the hamster cause here is the thing the cars price goes up as its model gets older its the condition of the car that may dent the cars price so if you keep teh car in mint condition a year later you can sell it for alot more then you got it

By Apollumi on Friday, June 12th, 2009 at 5:57 am

Yea!! Mining alts just got better for me!

By lawman30 on Friday, June 12th, 2009 at 6:33 am

To all the people who add this to the pile of reasons they want to cancel their account and quit the game, I have this to say….

QUIT ALREADY AND DON’T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE A$$ ON THE WAY OUT!!! And do us an additional favor … once you quit the game, promise you won’t troll WoW sites and QQ about everythig “wrong” with the game.

Jeezus. I play the game and come to sites like this to get a break from my whiny 2 year old, not to find more people acting like whiny 2 year olds.

By VĂȘn on Friday, June 12th, 2009 at 10:33 am

ohhh how mounts have changed. I think they are leaving the Epic flyer cost the same because they’d have so many goddamn people angry that they spent 5000 g when others didn’t…

By QQ on Friday, June 12th, 2009 at 11:32 am

Can you make the game any easier Blizz? This is just plain dumb. Casual players are ruining the game. They want everything easy without any effort.

By Noric on Friday, June 12th, 2009 at 1:23 pm

    @cocopuff
You have got to be kidding right? A car losses 1/3 of it’s value the second you drive it off the sales lot. Even if you drove the car straight home and stored it in a clean room for the entire year it would still be worth less a year after you bought it. The value may increase as it ages due to becoming a classic or other such milestone but your statement is the ridiculous one.

To all the others: I have 2 80’s with epic flyers and numerous 4 alts between 70 and 80 with reg flyers, not to mention all my toons between 30 and 70. I probably have about 20k wrapped up in mounts at the moment… But you know what? I still think this patch is a good thing. I mean yeah it sucks that I spent all that gold when the newer players don’t have to but that’s life, get over it. Be happy that your alts won’t have to pay it. Oh and yeah a refund would be nice but don’t hold your breath. It would be ridiculous for Blizz to waste the time to go through all the logs to find out who has such and such mount and deserves susch and such back as a refund. Seriously… this is a game, get over yourselves.

this is just this is just increadible absolutey increadible
so we now get flying mounts at lvl 60?

By falleus on Friday, June 12th, 2009 at 7:01 pm

ehh, basic flying at 65 sounds much better. No one in Outlands is going to ever be on the ground, sort of like the issue with Northrend (which made then train for cold weather flying).

By drake on Saturday, June 13th, 2009 at 2:43 am

i`m spilt on this i have a 80 that payed like 7000 g (in total) and now their lowing annoy me but i got alt close 2 20 so it`s ok 4 that

blizzard should give some money bk 2 people who payed for more before patchs

By palamonkey on Tuesday, June 16th, 2009 at 4:24 pm

will the flyer be automaticly updated or do we have to buy them bot again?

By higy on Wednesday, June 17th, 2009 at 1:09 pm

with who do u need rep with btw ty

By Rasun on Sunday, June 21st, 2009 at 7:06 pm

This is fantastic… if it had happened in the WotLK release i just bought basic flying about 3 weeks ago and epic ground about 5 weeks ago. I think it would not be a big deal to send everyone who has earned the riding training achievements money it would not be that hard and would be very fair i mean i am sratting to save up for epic and an extra 1030g (i just did the math) would certainly help out

By Cybac on Monday, July 20th, 2009 at 5:34 am

Not sure about this, while I can certainly appreciate the extra speed boost and the savings on gold and the fact that it will be available earlier to break the monotony of travelling on foot it was always a special milestone that push people to work towards.

I’m not in any way worried about having spent the money already, thats life, but i’m wondering if making them available at earlier levels isnt taking away from the sense of achievement by making things a touch too easy.

It’s not exactly a hard accomplishment just a bit more time consuming but that first mount feeling is going to be somewhat diluted now.

Still an open mind about it, just not 100% convinced it’s going to do anything apart from make people even lazier.
