Tags: Instances, never again, shadow labyrinth, slabs
Not too long ago I wrote about my experiences in Mount Hyjal and gave everyone the opportunity to share our favorite places to play. I really enjoyed reading through your comments, and you definitely brought back some good memories of leveling in Duskwood and my first steps into Nagrand.
Today I want to flip that. I will tell you right now there is an instance I flat out REFUSE to step foot in. Ask anyone in my guild, you can’t pay me to go in there. The instance I’m talking about is Slabs (or The Shadow Labyrinth, if you prefer).
There are several reasons I hate this place, but you can pretty much chalk it up to two really bad experiences. For quite a while I skated along running it every so often, no major issues to speak of. Then I had the run that will live in infamy.
I was just killing some time one random afternoon, so I gathered up a group of friends (including DrDark, who now loves Slabs about as much as I do) and decided to knock out a quick instance run. Things started okay, then it happened. We wiped no less that 15 times on Grandmaster Vorpil. Chalk it up to inexperience, flawed strat, or whatever. The point is it was utterly painful! Four hours later we finally made our way to Murmur. Â Another 8-10 wipes and we just called it. This group was fairly skilled, and stubborn as all hell, but we finally just had to cut our losses and move on with our lives. You can finish Kara in less time!
I was at a bit of a loss for why the run was so bad, but It was at that moment I swore off Slabs, I felt like I didn’t really need to put myself through that again…
Alas, probably 4 months later I was starting to get pretty well geared and was working on my TK attunement quests. Guess where it sends me? Heroic Slabs. Oh Joy.
I thought about this for a while, Slabs couldn’t be near as bad as I remember right? What the hell, lets do this thing! So we did. I was a much better player, and put together a pretty impressive group.
So in we go, thinks were going smooth until Blackheart the Inciter. Then all hell breaks loose. 6-7 wipes on Blackheart, at least 10 on Vorpil, and 5 on Murmur. I don’t know if we were having an off day, but it was another 4 hour run from hell. It was that point I swore to myself, and meant it, no more Slabs, NEVER AGAIN.
This time I’ve stuck to it, and I never see myself going back. In fact it’s become the big joke in the guild whenever Slabs pops up as the heroic daily. “Bast will tank! He loves Slabs!” Har har, my response has become canned “never again.”
I’m hoping I’m not the only one who has this strong of feelings against an instance. There is no other instance in the game I mind running, and I rarely wipe in heroics at all, but something about Slabs just sends chills down my spine. Do you guys have any hellish experiences to share, or any instances that you flat refuse to run? I completely understand if you do, trust me.

Poor Bast. I don’t have a dark place as I tend to just be really, really good at wow.
By brett on Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 at 4:05 pm
slabs is a joke…blackheart is quite annoying (including his room) but I never really have had issues in there beyond that point. It was actually the first instance I cleared when turning 70.
However, I do hate slabs for the mere fact that I ran it so many times. As the only level 70 tank in the guild, I ran it all the time to get people their kara keys. For some reason, I ran slabs more than every other instance required for the key.
gnomer on the other hand is just one instance i always seem to skip as i’m leveling.

@Juggy
I understand, before this week I thought I was pretty good myself. Turns out I suck… at least that’s what I hear
By Saemundr on Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 at 4:18 pm
I USED to feel that way about SLABS, but now, with the right group.. (never EVER take a group that doesnt know what they are doing. there are people i trust in ZA but would never take to SLABS with me, PARTICULARLY not heroic)
I remember 3 manning Mumur on Heroic. (T4 geared group, pretty much a must, but thats not that high, imo)
Pally tank, Mage, Holy Priest - the other 2 dps failed, but these three left standing were the ones i trusted.
When u see the flashing floor, run, when it stops, haul ass back in - its not really that hard! im in Australia, i run 600+latency - and there are people in the US that dare to try and say that their 200latency is too high to respond quick enough…..

@brett Gnomer is definately sucha sucky instance. Not too much hastle with Slabs but Gnomer! zzzzzzzzzzzz

I have a horrid place but i cant prevent myself from running it. Heroic magister’s terrace. I am a fairly good geared tank. Mostly T4 with sun well badge gear. I had run this instance for three months straight after the patch came out with it (every day), just waiting fro the commendation of kael’thas to drop. Then took a month break from it because i was so frustrated. I then started it up again and after another two months of never seeing it i decided its not worth my time. Also dont think that it was a breeze running it every day. Some days it me 2 hrs to find a group and then if its a good grp we ran it in 45 min or others we couldnt finish the third boss because it is so easy to get heroic keyed to that place that so many friggin noobs pile into the queve. I have had rusn that were 5 hrs long. With no wips on any boss but the third. I have had a run that i got to the third boss and i replaced the dps 4 times before we downed her. the only ppl left from that original group were the healer and i.
So believe me when i say i feel your pain. I had a similar experience with slabs trying to get blackheart’s tank trinket to drop but then i finally got something better from a different place.
By Gilnid on Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 at 4:40 pm
Everyone in my guild knows the one and only instance I will never do: Gnomer. I wanted the stupid hat from the final boss, with the supposed 10 percent drop rate. I ended up running Gnomer a total of 59 times. I had 30 two-handed axes.
By mannax on Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 at 4:44 pm
i have a place i will never set foot in again in wow and that place is heroic MgT
ran that place once a day for over a month to get a trinket from the 3rd boss (comendation of Kaelthas) and wiped for hours and hours
i grew to despise the place for its ridiculous camera angle requirments and the 3rd boss itself witch as a pall tank is almost unmanagale without the right team.
once i got my trinket i swore down that i would bever set foot in the place again
however a good freind in guild needed a tank the next day so i went and the trinket droped again
infact every time i have been dragged in there since to help guildies out the damn thing has dropped
sometimes u gotta h8 the RNG

A lot of people seem to hate Gnomergan, but for some reason i really like it. (am i the only one?)
As for my dark area, i don’t have an instance i hate, but Stranglethorn Vale really gets on my nerves. It just takes so long to do all of the quests, and it is such a big area. However, now that you can get mounts at level 30, STV is much easier to get around for people just starting that area, which kind of makes me mad. It really would have been helpful to have a mount in STV.
By Steve aka Deathkar-feral druid extraordinaire on Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 at 4:54 pm
yea mannax i envy you. you actually have it. liek i said i ran for about 5 months every day so that rounds to about 150 runs and never seen a drop. its not liek for me it dropped and got ninjaed but it simply hated me. My mage friend had a similar experience as I but with the shoulders off the second boss.
By John on Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 at 5:38 pm
Chalk it up to bad luck, but I’ve had 5 tanks leave my group in 6 runs of MgT. It’s not like I was sucking at healing (trust me, I know when I suck), tanks just for whatever reason hate me in MgT (no where else tho :P). This past time, we wiped on trash because the tank pulled a group of mobs while myself and the ele shaman were drinking… he quit after I rezzed his sorry butt, and I did too … forever
Point being, I never ever intend to ever run MgT ever again ever…
(did i say ever enough?)
By Karthis on Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 at 7:42 pm
@Bastosa: With people who aren’t situationally aware, SL can suck - there are lots of ways to wipe. However, with a group full of competent raid experienced players (not necessarily raid geared) it is anything but challenging - even on heroic.
@Mannax: Oh wow - that’s my favorite heroic! Never had many problems in MgT at all.
Now, to answer the question: I won’t ever return to Steamvaults - I had to run it tooooooo many times to get exalted with CE and obtain my freaking Earthwarden, which is basically required for T4 bear tanking. Nothing worse than forcing yourself to do the same instance endlessly for a week. Ugh.
By Aaron on Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 at 10:29 pm
I have the worst experiance eva! I decided to run heroic ramparts with some buddies from my guild. We started off fine then ended up wyping so many times on varzul the dragon I just left. I ended up quiting the guild and headed to a much better guild because my guild was still trying to get past moroes in kara!
By RĂșna on Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 at 10:31 pm
One place i have started to hate is MgT. This is because no matter how good i get as healer or dps i can never seem to get a proper group for it. Everytime i want to do it as dps everyone asks do you have epic chest armor (my blue one is alot better). If i get into a group as healer i keep seeing atleast 2 or 3 hunters who won’t under any circumstances cc at all. Beastmaster or not hunter should know some cc cause they can. I’m not going to do MgT until i get a good group from my guild then i might get to do it all the way.
By Crazytree on Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 at 11:07 pm
I feel for you. I truely hate Slabs and will never go back. I have never wiped so much in any instance and I have done all the heroics. (OK at one point heroic Durn was worse). Even the trash is hard as hell. Its just 1 of those instances you need the perfect group, if not your screwed.
By Alayea on Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 at 11:30 pm
You think you have it bad? I wish I could even get into an instance, but can’t because I have such a hard time getting a group together. And having a lack of experience probably doesn’t help my case, but how do you think you become knowledgable about an instance in the first place? >_<
Hellfire Ramparts: 1
Shadow Labyrinth: 1
Botanica: 1
Mechanaar: 1
Magister’s Terrace: 1
Those are all the Outland instances I’ve managed to do a run. For Karazhan I’ve only been there twice. I’ve never gotten to do a 25-man raid and probably never will.
So, yes, I can sympathize with encountering bad pugs and whatnot (brewfest boss comes to mind *shudder*). But at least you got to experience more instances more often than I.

3 Letters.
MGT!!
The Insta from the Twisted Bastards that Blizz Specifically Created for War Tanks to say “F@$% U!!”.
Seriously, 4-5 Mob Pulls Every Time, and Every Pally became a Healadin because “duuur duuur, wez getz mur healzors now.”
The Only time I beat that place was 3 Times. The First time, and i mean on the First day the Patch came out, when we had 2 Mages, a Holy Priest and a Shaman. We must have wiped All Freakin Day. 9 Hours, 35 Switches, and God knows how much GOLD!!
Note, this was when I was a war tank, Kara/Guurl’s Geared, and for God Sakes, a a Damn Good Aggro Holder. Most of the DPS was too quick at times, but it was all Hell, no matter Who we had. Shamans, Druids, Pallys. The first boss was Cake. The second one was Insane without 2 casters, and the THIRD!? It Should Be a F!#@# Raid Boss!!
You Do NOT Mix PVE Insta with a PVP 5 On 5 Arena Boss. You Spit in Every Tanks Face when u Do This. The Last boss, Compared to That, is Nothing. You Hear That? Kael was Nothing!!
Whoever thought of this insta should have been Shot and Dragged into the Street. Oh, and BTW, the Other 2 times were Only when my Guild needed to switch out there tired tanks.
Yeah I tanked the Heroic, got the Trinket and the Sword on the First run. Only time I EVER beat it then. The only thing I can say is, Next time an Insta like that is EVER created, you will Not be able to Pay me to get Back in there, Ever, Again. Without a 2 Mages, a Holy/Disc Priest, and a Pally Tank.
Other than that, Never, Again. Ever. Ever. EVER!!
By Xylch on Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 at 11:44 pm
I actually find SL to be one of the easier Heroics, I really don’t know how you guys are having issues on it.
The only actual hard boss in there is Murmur, and as long as you have a group that works well together, it should go smooth.
By George on Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 at 11:57 pm
i can clearly say that ive run slabs enough times to be exalted on 5 caracters and its still anoying as the first. That instance is just a ton of tough trouble and i tend to avoid it now.
By Aguzar - Darkspear (EU) on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 12:05 am
ive always avoided kara, takes too long imo, all instances sgould be like heroic ramps.
By swedish man on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 12:11 am
ok seriously, Dorkins, the BM hunter, you need to make some macros because in every ep I see of Lore, your pet jimmy is at your side for like 90% of the pulls. I just got a lvl 27 hunter but I start with this macro:
#showtooltip Hunter’s Mark
/startattack (this will start your auto shoot AND auto-target the nearest target if you have none, 35 yard range)
/petattack (sends in pet to do his thing… BM is alot of pet dmg)
/cast Hunter’s Mark
or copy paste the petattack line into your steady shot macro or arcane shot macro. A BM hunter should NEVER have his pet idle beside him. Mabye do a lore episode about useful macros?
/cast Rapid Fire (I just use it every cooldown to not have to remember it)
/use 14 (also use trinkets at every cooldown)
GoodLuck!
/Swedish Man

I’m lvl 36 and have only done 3 instances (stockades, DM and Gnomer) and I liked them all really. Stockades was a bit boring but it’s more of a boosting instance anyways. Even though it was long I loved gnomer! I got every single rare drop on the first run! We had a 70 preist in the group though, lol.
By Beartrucci on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 12:47 am
I am a level 70 rogue and had done plenty of instances on heroic, but one I had never done was the arcatraz. Me and 3 of my friends were in one house playing and the Internet connection is not too stable there.
We inlisted the help of a tank friend and we got under way. We had been D/C’ing all night and then it suddenly stopped happening. I thought I might actaully get a chance to enjoy the instance, but no. We hit the first boss and everything seemed to be going fine and then LAG!! We all lagged out, except for the tank who was playing somewhere else. We get logged back in and all that is left is a huge bloody mess.
This happened on every boss atleast 2-3 times. Lets just say that the run got rather boring. We eventually managed to get through the instance with some rather expensive repair bills.
I guess I wouldn’t mind trying to go there again on my own, stable Internet connect. But, that particular run has left many bad memories.
By Zerotorescue on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 1:28 am
Funny, how everybody is cursing Heroic Magister’s Terrace above while this is really my favorite dungeon. Since I stopped doing Heroics this is the ONLY dungeon I am still up for (and I am actually farming it to add the bird mount to my collection).
There are some dungeons which I like and some which I dislike, but there isn’t really one in particular I try to avoid. However, there is one raid boss I dislike most of all bosses which is Archimonde (besides that I think MH itself is damn boring).
Archimonde is too much of a retard check, and well, we always had retards in my previous guilds. For a Hunter Archimonde isn’t really a lot of fun, you’re continuously running and you can’t make your pet attack the boss or it will die. I have been on too many wipes (including full evenings from 19:00 to 23:00) to still want to waste my time there and he hasn’t got anything for me anyway.
By grillbar on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 1:40 am
i hate kara, yes i said it i really do the only thing i like in kara is the chess event and ns (netherspite)
and what normal instance/heroic instance well there is really not on that i hate but then one i like less then all the others is sv (steamvault)
By Violeti on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 2:51 am
Slabs is not so bad, its pretty easy with a good group.
Now Auchenai crypts, thats my dark place. I’m never even going back in there. Even with the best peeps on my server we tend 2 wipe. Done it as a healer, tank and dps. Its always the same outcome.
By Ntieoen on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 4:03 am
I’m with you on Slab.
The first bunch of it I have no problem with, even on heroic.
But from Vorpil to Murmur, trash included, it’s difficult to not wipe because of some things that can’t be avoided.
Vorpil always seems to have his adds piled up on his port spot even though we’re dragging him like normal.
Trash on the way to Murmur isn’t as bad, although the tank is usually too full of himself to say it’s his fault for pulling too much trash and blaming it on my sapping one.
Murmur is more difficult because you can’t accurately measure his hitbox when you’re anticipating the sonic boom.
Ramparts heroic sucks too, Omor the unscarred gets to me since we usually near-wipe with one or 2 players being left who kill him then full wipe since they can’t focus on the adds that are left.
And usually when pugging it on Vazruden the tank is just an airhead who in his mind must be thinking if he stands in the fire he gets a huge bonus to avoidance.
The only time I never wipe in groups though is on my shammy or pally healing, pugged healers who are not me just don’t do well ever.
By Rugi on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 4:33 am
My most hellish inst experience is Black Rock Depths.
When we (Mr. Hunter and Mr. Warlock) tried to pug it, it took us 3 hours to get a group.
Then it takes 1-5 minutes to the group to break.
The reason:
1. The healer (a priest) couldn’t walk right TO the instance and was probably a bot or a really retarded kid. He just kept falling to the lava and didn’t know how to rez.
2. People falling to the lava. One guys falls in, another goes to see, and whoops! joins him.
3. Noob ppl. The healer doesn’t heal right, the tank is a dps druid, the dps aggroes Cross and Moon instead of firing at Skull.
It was hell. We went like this for a week, about 10 wipes, and GOD knows how many miss spent hours. This is where we just decided to skip this shit, and level on.
The problem was there were a lot of good quests in BRD. We did manage to get about 1/10 of the instance once, and the Hammer-quest gave me 10k exp.
The only time the run was succesful was when our lvl 70 friend decided to boost us halfway, then leaving.
Black Rock Depths is on of those longest instances (about 5 hours if you don’t wipe).
By Gerandor on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 5:11 am
Not really too bothered with any instances… only one i dont like is ST.. i was around lvl 49 when i did it the first time.. i thought “hey theres a group for it in LFM, lets just give it a go”.. went in there.. after about 3 hours, a few wipes, and no good drops, i had a feeling i would never go there again - however i was wrong. the very next lvl, my warlock quest (as im a warlock :D) took me there again… i know ST might not be all that bad for some people, but bloody hell, im never taking any alts through there!
By Alex on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 6:02 am
I got a couple that i won’t touch again.
1.Walling Caverns- I have run this place so many times and wonder why i do it each time. It is too long, that along with players who don’t know their class yet makes my life stressful.
2.Gnomer- …..No!
3.ST- agree with Gerandor lol.
4.Underbog- I dunno why i hate this place so much….but i do.
By Luuk on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 6:24 am
The bane of my WoW existence my characters existence and quite possibly of anybody who has ever set foot in that bug hole from hell.
The Temple of Ahn Qiraj…
When you first get there it’s not that bad. You go through the trash pretty easily and get to the first and easiest boss in the instance. Receive some free epics(which were more epic then epic back then) and everybody is happy. But low and behold the epics in AQ40 sucked major bumballs compared to Blackwing Lair and the like and were a real improvement(aside from the odd piece here and there).
But we got a free cool bug mount out of it and it was a fun new experience right?
WRONG! Anybody who has ever faced princess Huhuran will tell you it is the single most annoying fight in the history of the world, of warcraft. Spending weeks getting Nature Resistance gear for 15+ raiders that was barely available in game at the time and spending more weeks wiping on her really was torture.
Ow and getting 40 people to do everything correctly on the Bug Trio and Twins wasn’t a picnic either. But that’s a story for another nightmare.
By Ayredden on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 7:02 am
Hah, I ended up in a group where we 3 manned heroic murmur, that was fun! As far as my most despised places would go…
1: Durnholde. Thrall is an impatient jerk face!
2: Mana Tombs- From tank and healer perspective I hate this place
3: Magisters Terrace- This is more of a love/hate relationship. I remember doing this when it first came out and vexallus made my life miserable! He is not too bad anymore but that third boss can really suck. It is too CC dependant.
By hanintodd on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 7:25 am
My worst fear is not an instance but a zone you see i HATED duskwood it was a combination of the creepy music and dark atmosphere it chilled my very bones
eventually i turned the music off and duskwood wasn’t so nasty but i still wont step inside that place for love or money if i need to get in deadwind pass i’m taking the long way through blasted land. oh and bast lets hope when the guys do slabs lyle doesn’t have a cold or else someones going for a little trip
By Bastosa on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 8:23 am
I’m surprised so many of you dislike MgT. That is one of my favorites. Sure there are some huge pulls, but I like the challenge of it.
I’m also blown away at those of you that dislike Kara! I think its one of the best instances in the game, and I’ve done it more times than I can count.
I’ll get on board with Mana Tombs though… not a big fan of that place either.
By Ombrenoire on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 8:27 am
My guild still runs Slabs every so often to get more people keyed to Kara or do the occasional Herioc (we’re bored waiting for the x-pack). We can usually do this instance in about 3 hours, breezing through Blackheart and Murmur. I hate the whole mind control scene since he just loves firing me off at the squishies (cloth wearers) that I can one-shot with ease. Fun all around… not.
It is Vorpil that I HATE!!!!!
Most of out 3 hours is spent trying to down this… this… GAH!! Our final strategy that seems to work quite well is to have a fury specced tank on him at that point.
But I hate Slabs with a passion. My guildies know this and now don’t even bother asking me if I want to go. No loss, I don’t want the Sonic Spear.
Aside from that I would have to say that the Moroes fight in Kara is the other thing I hate. I’m usually the hunter on the freezing trap dance. I’m BM, not survival, so you can tell how well my traps work.
Aside from those, my instance fights have been rather clean and simple. Lucky me ^_^
By Torsha on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 8:28 am
Heroic Arcatraz. No other instance has that many random debuffs. The invisible succubi before Wrath-Scryer and Dalliah always seem to come in 2’s (or even worse - 3s) and it causes a wipe. Always.
The other reason I hate that place is the infernals at the end. Yeah, they’re easy. But there’s always ONE person that wants to be special and then dies from the meteor. It’s always the healer. You wouldn’t believe how many times we’ve kited the infernal over to that stray person only to have them say in chat “OMG I’M GETTING SPELL PUSHBACK!!!” then run away. And die.
Basically - If I haven’t raided with a healer or tank, they don’t make it into my heroics runs. Plain and simple. http://be.imba.hu/ has been my savior for getting rid of bad players too.
By Punkyniko on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 8:53 am
I’m sure Slabs is terrible, however i wouldn’t know because i’m stuck on a stupid mage holding the key to the place….thats right Talon King Ikiss, i can’t count how many times our guild has wiped on him. The journey to him isn’t usually a problem with a good group who knows what they’re doing, but when we get to Ikiss, its like a hellish frenzy dodging those arcane explosions and still trying to get him down. Besides Ikiss i would say we’ve had some bad luck with Shirrak in Crypts too, that stupid debuff he has makes him so darn difficult.
By Zearha on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 8:55 am
My dark place in WoW is Scholomance. Yes it is an older place. Pre BC but every time i have run that place. If it be in the past doing it for gear or running it for the pally quest it has been just the hardest thing ever.
Any pallies that want that mount trust me it is the hardest thing you are going to do with that toon GL to all of you.
By Martyn on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 11:22 am
Theres only 1 Instance that i generally try to avoid at all costs (when im on my warlock, doesn’t matter with my druid) and thats Sethekk Halls…
For the sheer reasons that its a casters absolute nightmare, and even more so a Warlocks worst nightmare.
Spell Reflects, Fear Immunity.. and theres one other thing but my memory fails me -.- but all those together just makes it the crappest place to go for a lock.
By Frazz on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 11:56 am
There isn’t an instance I dislike for the challenge they represent. However I cringe whenever someone asks me to help them finish their mount quest in Dire Maul. Not for the instance itself, but for the fact that DM is out in the middle of nowhere! It usually takes me longer to get there than it does to do the instance!
By Josh on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 1:19 pm
There are 3 Instances that come to mind
H SH- Bad group fun time but still bad memories
H SV- couldnt get past damn trash for some reason
H SL- hell i wont even do regular its just bad.
By hytimo on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 1:32 pm
there is 1 mob i realy hate
NB(night bane)
seems like people cant understand him and keep standing to long in the fire, melee dpsers standing at his back or front dont thinking about a 1hit from swipe or tail swipe
and ofc its always the same thing that makes 50%^of the people die nb fears tank nb gets with his back to the ranged group BAAANG!!! tail swipe all healers dead wipe etc SIGH!

Bastosa its not that i hate it its that HMGT HATES ME! Srsly would you not go insane after 150 runs or so not even seeing the item you wanted? I mean its liek its not in my loot table or something.
By Bastosa on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 3:03 pm
@Steve
I hear you , man. Keep in mind you are talking to someone who has killed the brewboss over 400 times in the past 2 weeks and only seen the damn Kodo drop twice.
I actually had a friend who had the same issue with the tank trinket, ran the thing daily for months on end. Personally it drops for me all the time, got it on my 3rd run. I’ve let it go to off-spec more times than I can count.
By Omnefarious on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 4:31 pm
I myself have a prot pally and share the hate of Slabs that you due Bastosa. Heroic Mummur is one of the hardest fights as a prot pally because of no charge or intercept to cover that ground between us and mummur after sonic boom ensuring that our entire party is going to take 2k splash dmg from Mummurs arcane bubbles.
However contrary to some peoples posts on here i happen to love heroic mgt and usually can clear it in 40 mins. AOE everything to hell.

I will never ever ever ever again do a VC or Gnomer run, too many deaths, too much wasted time

Even with bad PuGs and numerous wipes, I’ve never really found any instance to be such a pain as to never want to go in there again. I do dislike instances that lose their appeal after numerous runs through them. Zul’Farrak is one such instance. Yes, its a lower level instance, but when I was running it, it lost my interest after the second time through. The same goes for the Hellfire instances. The boss fights lose their luster and the scenery gets boring. This is the reason I love Kara, as it has wonderful scenery and the boss fights never seem to lose their interest.
As for a general location, Arathi Highlands, Tanaris, and the Badlands are places I could go without having to step foot into again. Nothing in those places (with the exception of the Caverns of Time in Tanaris) holds my interest long enough to want to stay there.

I dislike the RFK and RFD instances, to me they seem like they are there just to add more content, i like the better looking and storyline places such as karazhan and ZG

I dont like Slabs either, one of the worst places in World of Warcraft… I also dislike both Mana-Tombs and Sethekk halls but the worst Place is AC. Auchenai Crypts first boss is one of the hardest bosses i have ever met!
He just increases cast time on everything!
He is even harder then most bosses in kara!
I’ve done the whole instance one time and then we had a Resto Druid (with Hots) and Rogue, Enh Shaman, Hunter and Tankadin! We had no cast times so it wasnt hard… that time!

Mine is Norm MgT, have yet to find a grp with a healer who has enuf +heals, a tank who can tank, and the right amount of DPS for the Priestess and her goons. Gone in with pally heals, pally tank, mage, rogue, resto shaman, warrior, huntard, resto drood, etc. Needless to say I have tried nearly every combo and have yet to finish. My first run was with my former guild of which we could clear Kara np, but MgT, LOL. So now I only go in and give 3 tries on the priestess and if we can’t clear her, I move on to dailies, or workin on grp quests for attunements that are no longer required.

I’m surprised so many people hate MagT. It’s one of my favorites, not just because of the challenges, but because the fights are fun (if you’re not wiping). Well, okay, I hate doing the second boss because if your group is even slightly clueless or undergeared, they’re going to fail on him. But the third boss fight is just like 5v5s, which is incredibly fun, and Kael is like a mini-version of the fight with him in the Eye (without the ridiculously obnoxious adds).
I guess it all depends on your gear level/server/guild, since I wouldn’t dare try to pug it on normal or heroic on my main’s server, but I think I could find a solid group with one of my chars on another server.
As a general rule, I hate running the Auchindoun instances on heroic, mostly from past experiences. I’ve had good runs in all of them before, but I still am not a huge fan (especially since slabs refuses to drop the stupid idol for my druid, grr). My overall least favorite is Sethekk Halls. I don’t like either of the two boss fights, cause they hurt like hell, and Anzu is obnoxious about dropping his mount.

I think the best places are BIG raids… i loved MC and BWL… Gruul is great… mage tank ahaa… (1230 hp unbuff)
The Eye is great too, beating up other mages and magicall mightyness
The worste place i think was Terokkar Forrest… just a small bump in the road between Zangarmarsh and Nagrand
btw Nagrand is the best zone ever, especcially coz i get my lovely gass clouds out of Nagrand and i make 10.000g a week

So I have seen a few posts about Gnomer…, gots to say that Gnomer was one of my favorite instances bcause of the mere fact that I could (on my ally hunter) wipe a 5 man lvl 60 group with just 1 shot
. The places I love the most are the places people rarely visit. MC, BWL, AQ, and Nax… Nax esp. was one of the best instances I have ever stepped foot in. For those that didnt get to experience it, your missing out, as well as for those who missed MC BWL AW and Nax, your just kidding yourself on not getting a group together and enjoying the “roots” and in my mind the pinicle of end game raiding. Though I am kind of bias, I have yet to experience TK BT Sunwell or anything really beyond Mags and Grulls.
Ok so enough of my soap box dancing, on to what the post was actually about. An instance I hate. Well thats actually easier than I thought to answer, Underbog (heroic). Absolutely hate how long that stupid place is and the fact that even some of the best players (game play and gear wise) I know wont step foot in that silly freaking instance. I really cant put my thumb on it but after 6 wipes before even reaching a boss, is usually where I say “ok, wtf is going on?”. Maybe it was group make up maybe it was lack of concentration seeing as it was 2am. But that wasnt the only time I had what long long long night in the bog of stench. After the last time I was there, I have swarn to never return to the Bog of stench and for all those that enjoy that place, I hearby proclaim you to be prince (or princes as the case may be) of the Bog of stench from hence forth making you the smelliest person in all the land.

I hated and still hate Blasted Lands, and I won’t go back there. I am a skinner, and there’s lots to farm there—-except for one small problem…..you see, there’s this big dragon from hell that lives there—Teremus the Destroyer! You might have heard of him?
No lie—–every single time that I land in Blasted Lands, I get on my horse and within 5 minutes, that dragon has found me. It doesn’t matter what part of the stupid map I am on–if I’m in BL, he finds me. /end rant
