    Great episode but totally wrong on the professions I have an insane amount of gold and i only play 1-2 hours a couple days a week. I have a crazy flight path that in a little over an hour i can have up to 5 stacks of adamantite and 4 stacks of fel iron and all the goodies to go with it. From there i can either sell each stack for 20g a pop or prospect it for blue gems on the topaz’s and rubies i can make anywhere from 500g-900g respectively at the AH. That is why i have 4-8k gold and epic flyer nicely equipped and a weekly contribution to my guild of 1k per week.

    Awesome episodes, I haven’t been to Kara yet, but I’m super excited to. Also I noticed this week that Goggins looks very familiar so I looked into it and he is an actor that I have seen on some television series (Drake & Josh and iCarly, my little siblings watch them). Very cool!

    JC/Miner here, and Joe is totally right. Although until you get the epic flyer, it might take a little longer than with someone who does. Get an addon like Cartographer that will map mining nodes (as well as many other things). You’ll soon settle into a nice flight pattern from one node to the next and rack up the dough.

    On a side note, at least in my realm, Mithril sells for as much as Adamanite! People have just gotten too lazy to farm it themselves… Follow the perimeter of Tanaris, hit the sithlid holes and you can get 2-3 stacks of mithril + a stack of truesilver (also extremely valuable on my server) in about 45 minutes. The bonus to this is most mobs will be ignoring you.

    The bit about proffs was really helpful. Especially about Herbalism, it’s gonna be loads more use once insciption hits next week. Just one question what’s an ‘erb?

    100g/day if you’re good? You can get 100g just by doing all the dailies on the Isle which takes less than an hour. Mining/JC is pretty much easy mode if you want gold; no explanation necessary.

    Just would like to say Congratz, to Alex and Heather on there engagement news.

    I would like to comment on the Wrap up question that was asked about making money for a mount.
    It was stated that you can make about 100 gold a day doing transmutations and dailies… ect…

    Do not forget secondary skills such as fishing and cooking… First Aid… which I never made money with…

    But fishing and cooking are awesome money makers.
    People love buff foods… Golden fish sticks ect…

    As you do your dailies do not forget the fishing and cooking dailies which give you free food to cook and sell…

    Depending on your level will obviously determine where you can “farm”.

    Netherstorm for aldor and scryer rep tokens like Sunfury signets. These always sell well.

    I make anywhere from 80 gold an hour just fishing and cooking the fish I catch…

    By the time you see this the patch might be out and Auctioneer will not work. BUT when they update it, I suggest you get it and regularly scan the AH to find things like what I found the other day… A 36 stack of Arcane Tombs 25 silver buyout…
    I made a good little profit on those as they sell for about 7 gold EACH on my server.
    People make mistakes like that all the time.

    Don’t sell your ores/bars since you need them for your jewelcrafting…
    Rather focus on farming and fishing and cooking.

    Btw… In case anyone doubts my effectiveness…
    I make over 1000 gold every day and have over 40,000 gold and I will not disclose the exact amount :P

    Ps… Alexis you are one of the finest girls I never met lol

    @ Steven: Tailoring does become a good money maker when you hit 375. If you get exalted with either Aldor or Scryer, the Golden or Runic Spellthread is always in demand and goes for several hundred gold on the AH. Also in WotLK, Tailors will be able to make a flying carpet mount, so think about those things before deciding to switch.

    Jerry fucking cracks me up. He shoulda went with a Grandma’s Boy line though, “So… you’re dumb.”

    And yes, Alexis *is* cute as a button! :D

    you can make a ton of gold from mining just mine all day and just sell the ores and screw jc cause jc is trash

    @Morbus

    “erb” is the correct way of saying “herb”. The “h” in the word is silent.

    By Zaffe on Saturday, October 11th, 2008 at 11:13 am

    @Alayea

    Actually it’s pronounced differently all over the world, Mr. Knowledge.

    By Dildobugger on EUBloodhoof on Sunday, October 12th, 2008 at 6:27 am

    re: making dosh and herbs :)

    to Alayea - herbs…the H is not silent you bloody colonial!! sheesh…bleedin’ yanks, can’t spell, can’t use grammar and can’t use any words with “U” in it..honoUr..coloUr…:p

    anyway, money - for me, I never really started to make any money until my 2nd ‘toon and now that I have 5 ‘toons’ all that I do is dailies and then only 50g a day (I’d go crazy otherwise). The only thing I farm is AH. As for profs, yeah, sure, you can make money but I treat it all as incidental (or bonus) dosh. Taloring netherweave bags is good, and selling excess herbs, I pretty much horde every other mat for my other professions (engineering, blacksmithing, jewelcrafting etc).

    Summary? to make money make new toons :) and be patient, oh..and enjoy the game :)
