Patch 3.2 Call of the Crusade Trailer Released

Just now, Blizzard’s official Call of the Crusade page was updated to include the Patch 3.2 Trailer along with a summary of what the latest content patch brings to World of Warcraft. The trailer shows brief clips of a bunch of different boss encounters in both the 5-man instance and the new raid instance. Unfortunately, it doesn’t include nearly as much lore or even any dialogue like the Patch 3.1 Secrets of Ulduar Trailer did.

I suppose it is at least a bone thrown our way in order to hold us off for just a couple more hours before the realms come up, but I wish there was that little bit of back story besides, “The Argent Crusade calls and the players answer.” It may have just been a last minute highlight reel from the PTR to appeal to those who wanted a trailer for 3.2, but given the quality of both Wrathgate and the 3.1 trailer, I am pretty disappointed.

Other than the trailer, there’s also a nice desktop background available for download to show off the latest and greatest content in WoW.

What are your thoughts on the short video that Blizzard published?

it was neat, but when you compare to the others it isn’t near the others.

I thought they could have put more of training for what is to come for Icecrown Citadel, but just music and fights. Meh.

Guess we’ll just have to wait for servers now.

frick, didn’t read what I wrote, let me try that first line again.

it was neat, but when compared to the previous video’s it is /fail. No lore, no dialogue (unless you count the words posted infront of you), few shots of various bosses.

and to add a little more:
Geez Blizz are the interns putting this together? I know people are screaming for content, but 3.1 and now 3.2 are starting to seem like true “patches” to fix stuff without moving things towards the Lich King. Unless I missed something in Ulduar, but what did it have to do with Lich King anyway? We defeat a God of Death? Where does that really put the Lich King in terms of power?

the trailer looks cooler watching it teh second to time

To me, 3.2 is just a filler patch, there’s no lore to it, nothing to do with the Ashbringer, or Arthas…just content to satiate us while they work on Icecrown…this patch should be called 3.1.4, not a major patch

It wasn’t the best only because it was a different point of view. It was more focused on the players point of view, I still think it was very good though

I just wanted to say I love this site to be able to see what’s on the community site since I can’t go to it … long story.

kinda got me pumped up a bit by seeing the bosses but to see all the people in T8.5 it makes me uncertain i will be able to do it right away

it is not the lore or the dialogue that makes a movie though it does help actions speek louder then words i wish the uldaur video was more like that the this patch and the last one was a step forward to lich king do you wanto kill him with t7 gear plus i figure that LK is bit harder then yogg+0 its practice for when we wil encounter with the lich king and this patch is all about prepairing you for the ice crown citadel thats the point of argent colisium plus better gear and its a way to make the encounter easier without nerfing LK i know allot people hate the N word so even though LK was never reall manchioned in the last patch it was desighened help kill the LK

I found the trailer to be so…. dull compared to the 3.1 trailer. What I liked best is how they showed a Hunter with a pet Ghost Wolf (there was a shaman too, but if you watched carefully there is definitely a pet ghost wolf that follows a Hunter). Given Blizzard’s hooplah with the ghost wolf and other hunter pet fiasco’s, it’s amusing they’d pick one to be in a trailer of all things.

Meh would have been better with the black knight there saying “it’s only a flesh wound” and then some evil laughter.

I watched this earlier this morning, and I found it to be alright. But, as the saying goes, why settle for second-best? :|

    Dude…

Also look for the Dwarf with a pole in his head, is funny

I think this patch was just to prepare us for a much bigger patch that is most likely soon to come. Emblems of Conquest for heroics? They are practically giving away great gear to people who might not be able to “handle” the gear. Should people who can barely manage their roto be able to gain some of the best gear? Of course there is the new Emblem of Triumph but with enough daily heroics you can get a piece of that action. I’m going to look at this patch as a way to bring back heroics, give everyone great gear, and prepare us for the next big update. Does anyone agree?

Best bit was the shots of a Bear-form Druid parachuting down into the keep in the Isle of Conquest bits.

I dunno I enjoyed the trailer. I guess I liked seeing the raids leap into action rather than a few famous characters blabber on about how the world is doomed.

12 hours and counting til me and the rest of the EU get to leap into action :(.

dude. whas that kil“jaden there???? if so, what the f is he doing there

Rogue4Life, you are such a simpleton.
If the entire expansion is all about the Lich King it wouldn’t be fun!CC is made to give us good gear for icecrown citadel, u are expecting to charge in with tier 8?
Oh, and what is the lich king compared to Yogg?Well, i don’t know if i’m wrong, but yogg saron is a god of death, meaning he kills, while the LK can kill and RISE the dead.
And the rumors about wow dying soon (maybe after icecrown) would have came soon if blizzard didn’t make this raid instance.

    @metall

I think it was just some random Eredar guy. And not Kil’Jaeden

By Fancierpants on Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 at 5:47 pm

If I seriously didn’t know better, I’d say this was just fan-made. >_>

By Staffan on Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 at 8:45 pm

Ulduar might not be directly related to the Lich King, but if you’ve actually been reading the quests when leveling, you should have seen that he’s a fairly major player in the area. You have the Iron Dwarves, the tainted furbolg in Grizzly Hills, the mineral Saronite which is used by both the Scourge and the player factions, and finally the whole super-epic Thorim quest chain in Storm Peaks.

It would be boring if everything in the expansion was all about the Lich King, and ancient Lovecraftian deities are way cooler than run-of-the-mill Evil Overlords any day of the week (and twice on patch days).

By Staffan on Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 at 8:46 pm

And the “he” in the first sentence above should of course be “Yogg-Saron”.

heroics are gonna be popular again good for the alts and people that just dinged 80

After viewing the trailer a few times, i noticed the near complete lack of Alliance representation. Horde departing from Dalaran, Horde in the CC, Horde in the Isle of conquest (with a second or two of Alliance thrown in). Other than that, the trailer shows nothing at all that makes me want to play more. The bosses in CC all seem to have been done before in some form or another, be it quest elites or dungeon bosses.
Come on Blizz, stop with the time wasting and give us The Citadel. Or at least a DECENT trailer.

Anyone else notice that the guy in the picture on the welcome screen when you start the game is swinging a sword that looks an awful lot like Ashbringer? Is this making anyone else wonder what role, if any, Ashbringer is going to play in the lead-up to Icecrown Citadel? Or am I just a bigger lore nerd than I care to admit? =P

That movie was showing some love to the Horde! :)

By ToastyPala on Wednesday, August 5th, 2009 at 1:18 pm

Sick, I guess blizz LOVES horde !
