MMO-Champion has posted a handful of new changes that are coming, and they believe that they are coming this week. That would mean that during tomorrow morning’s weekly maintenance period, we’ll all have to download Patch 3.0.9. There are a few tweaks, including a bunch of changes to Arcane Mages. They’re also nerfing cast time increasing debuffs and increasing rogue damage. Check out all of the changes below.
Druid
- Ferocious Bite: This ability now only uses up to 30 energy in addition to its base cost.
Hunter
- Kindred Spirits (Beast Mastery): This talent now grants 20% pet damage at max rank.
- Serpent’s Swiftness (Beast Mastery): This talent now grants 20% pet attack speed at max rank.
Pets
- Lava Breath now reduces the target’s casting speed by 25%, down from 50%.
- Poison Spit now reduces the target’s casting speed by 25%, down from 50%.
Mage
- Arcane Power now increases damage and mana cost by 10%, cooldown reduced to 1 minute. (Note: The spell is actually different in game and increases damage and mana costs by 20% with a 2 minutes cooldown. However it would probably be better to wait until servers are online to confirm that.)
- Arcane Power and Presence of Mind now share a category cooldown. Arcane Power causes a 15 second cooldown. Presence of Mind, once consumed, causes a 1.5 second cooldown.
- Arcane Flows now reduces the cooldown of Presence of Mind, Arcane Power and Invisibility by 15/30%.
- Presence of Mind: The cooldown has been reduced to 2 minutes, (down from 3.)
- Slow (Arcane): now increases cast time by 30%, down from 60%.
- Glyph of Arcane Missiles — Increases the critical strike damage bonus of Arcane Missiles by 25%. (Old - Increases the range of Arcane Missiles by 5 yards.)
- Glyph of Mana Gem — Increases the mana recieved from using a mana gem by 40%. (Up from 10%)
- Glyph of Arcane Blast — Increases the damage from your Arcane Blast buff by 3%. (Down from 5%)
Paladin
- The duration on all Seals has been increased to 30 minutes and can no longer dispelled.
- Divine Plea: The amount healed by your spells is reduced by 50% (up from 20%) but the effect can no longer be dispelled.
- Sanctified Seals: This talent no longer affects dispel resistance, but continues to affect crit chance.
- Glyph of Holy Light — Your Holy Light grants 10% of its heal amount to up to 5 friendly targets within 8 yards of the initial target. (Down from 20 yards, Tooltip text fix, was already hotfixed to 8 yards in game)
- Glyph of Seal of Righteousness — Increases the damage done by Seal of Righteousness by 10%. (Old - Reduces the cost of your Judgement spells by 10% while Seal of Righteousness is active.)
Priest
- Inner Fire duration has been increased to 30 minutes and can no longer dispelled.
Rogue
- Hunger for Blood (Assassination): Now increases damage 5% per stack, (up from 3%.)
- Mind Numbing Poison now reduces cast time by 30%, down from 60%.
- Mutilate damage will now do 20% increased damage against poisoned targets, down from 50%.
- Slice and Dice: This ability now increases melee attack speed by 40%, up from 30%.
Shaman
- Glyph of Windfury Weapon — Increases the chance per swing for Windfury Weapon to trigger by 2%. (Down from 5%)
Warlock
- Curse of Tongues: Now increases the casting time of all spells by 25% (Rank 1) and 30% (Rank 2), down from 50% and 60%.
The Obsidian Sanctum
- Changed the color of the fissure in the Obsidian Sanctum to be more visually distinct.
User Interface
- The “GM wishes to speak with you” alert/button, at the top of the screen, has been changed so that addons do not obscure it.
- A clickable chat message has been added that duplicates the GM alert/button.
- When a GM wishes to speak with you the Help Request minibar button will glow.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where players using nVidia 3D glasses were unable to see spell cooldowns.
- Fixed a software mouse cursor bug that was causing the mouse curser to disappear from view when over certain UI elements.
- Fixed a player movement error in which other players were appearing to move erratically when traveling beside them.

5k gold says all your mage info is wrong.

Has anyone ever had a bug where they were the only one wearing armor and everyone else had no armor on. I only had armor on cause i was a druid and i was in cat form when it happened and when i came back out of cat form i had my armor on. It happened when we entered an instance. As soon as we entered everyone’s armor disappeared and wouldn’t come back till we left the instance. This happened twice to me…. can someone please tell me if this is a bug or if it is just a random occurrence.
By Taskun on Monday, February 9th, 2009 at 4:45 pm
This may be the wrong spot but anyone know where our favorite healer is? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind the pally master over here but I miss the constant jokes and little ho-hum songs in the show.
By Taskun on Monday, February 9th, 2009 at 4:46 pm
Oh, that bug with the armor happened to me as well…according to the people in my group at the time its quite common and nothing really to worry about. Fix is just a re-log. Sorry for the double post.

Oh god. The change to seals makes me drool. So much for my
/cast seal of XXXXXX
/sw 115
/script start stopwatch
Macro. Not that i’m complaining. Having a seal go down in the middle of a fight was a pain in the ass….
By ttusing on Monday, February 9th, 2009 at 5:00 pm
Mutilate nerf is dissapointing. The hfb buff is nice though. HFB might see some PvP usage now.
By Yumbibi on Monday, February 9th, 2009 at 5:04 pm
Yeah, so y’all are probably tired of hearing new bugs and such, but im getting bored of my mage because now instead of having an actual fire streak behind my fireball, im just chucking a molten lookin rock at people. Dont get me wrong, damage is same and what not, but its BUGGIN ME. especially cause it looks dumb. Anyone know how to fix, plz lemme know
By Pauldy on Monday, February 9th, 2009 at 5:05 pm
Those changes really do like like they came out of someones posterior.
This change in particular is so poorly worded I can’t help but think the whole thing is fake.
Arcane Power and Presence of Mind now share a category cooldown. Arcane Power causes a 15 second cooldown. Presence of Mind, once consumed, causes a 1.5 second cooldown.
By Bastosa on Monday, February 9th, 2009 at 5:22 pm
I’m pretty excited about the seal changes for no other reason than it will free up a space on my hotbar.
An extra GCD won’t be bad every 2 minutes either.
By Joenips on Monday, February 9th, 2009 at 5:26 pm
Mutilate nerf is a big hit but atleast HfB and SnD have been buffed slightly….finally Blizz giving some love to us Mutilate Rogues
By Joenips on Monday, February 9th, 2009 at 5:28 pm
@Taskun
watch last weeks wrap up
Goggins has left the show for good bc he is too busy…hopefully someday he will be back
By kevin on Monday, February 9th, 2009 at 5:43 pm
I agree with L above. Most of the changes here are only to single specs to the classes, there has to be more. I believe that there will be a patch 3.0.9 maybe tommrow maybe not, but if it is tommrow there will be more than this
By Taskun on Monday, February 9th, 2009 at 5:46 pm
Oh thanks Joenips :/
By alex on Monday, February 9th, 2009 at 8:18 pm
Well if you’ve been watching the blue posts such as the 1 fetured in the blog post the blizz poster said it’d be on the test realms first before it’d go live so don’t expect 3.0.9 anytime soon. and since 3.0.9 is to preceed 3.1 the proposed uldaar patch I’d say don’t expect it for atleast 2 months or more since 3.0.9 is currently not on the test servers.

heres the REAL changes, from blue posts on wow forums

I’m hoping that the so-called “patch note” is fake, because I think Blizzard has punished BM hunters enough already. Why make us suffer even more?
By leppergnome on Monday, February 9th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
my bad, just noticed they are 3.1.0…..still happy to see rogue and priest changes though
By fishev on Monday, February 9th, 2009 at 11:16 pm
Wf glyph is going to get nerfed gg blizzard -_-
By alex on Monday, February 9th, 2009 at 11:40 pm
like I said earlier they are not going to patch the game without putting the upcoming patch on the test servers first and as of yet the new patch has not been put on the test servers for testing either way 3.1? or 3.0.9 as suggested with the latest scuttlebutt on MMO champions and WOW insiders website so I say don’t believe all the rumors you hear till you see test realm patchnotes up beyond 3.0.8
By thetotalyemodraenai on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at 12:20 am
Has anyone seen what they wrote about windfury?omg Shammys will getting nerfed if this is true and undispellable seals?pallys are then gonna be unbeatable in Pvp

By Pauldy on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at 5:58 am
Eww these changes are 4 real someone is gona have to explain that whole cooldown thing on the arcane mages cause blizzard did a shity job of it.
By Cypherblok on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at 6:35 am
YAY for mutilate getting a huge EFFIN NERF! I guess they decided to give HfB a little boost before making it CRAP by taking the self buff off of it! God I sure can wait for 3.1 now…………………………………. At least my Huntard will be happy with the ammo buff!!!!
By Joenips on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at 6:55 am
@Cypherblok
It seems blizz has no love for the Mutilate build….they only like combat from what ive seen every patch except this one the buffed atleast 2 things in the combat tree
By BERNIE on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at 7:02 am
PLEASE ban people that just type first!!!!!
By Taquila(Barthilas) on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at 8:31 am
Dammit i just download the patch and ffs that CD will screw up my current mage macro sigh…. Say good bye to my 1 click pop everything
basically the cd thing prevent us from poping those 2 skill consecutively in any order sigh at blizz makeing my life more complicated
By Amusing on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at 8:59 am
I can’t believe blizz is going to nerf Assassination even more. They have said many times that they want rogues to become more of the “stereotypical dagger-wielding class” instead of using gigantic sword graphics. GG. Looks like I’m going to have to pull out the old Hailstorm….
Arcane Mages………thanks again blizz. Just because we could instantaneously 2 shot anybody in PvP by using just 2 buttons…….Well….rotation will have to be tweaked a lil for PvE, hope it doesn’t drop the deeps too much ><
By Razius on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at 10:14 am
Already downloading it,altough I feel sad because there are nothing new for Warriors =[
By Dumdrakk, Executus on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at 10:52 am
Ouch! why are they killing the windfurry glyph?!?!?
By Delron on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at 11:32 am
So Aguzar (the second poster) are you going to pay up the 5k gold? Because I’ve downloaded patch 3.0.9 early this morning. You can send me the 5k if you’d like Delron on Eldre’Thalas will gladly accept your money.

yeah also just showed up to laugh at every1 who thought 3.09 didn’t/wouldn’t exist. so big LOL’s at all you who fit in that category.
Aside from that, i’m wondering, i mean reallying wondering if and when blizz will stop nerfing all the other classes and actually throw a reasonable nerf on their new babies- the Deathknight. 3.08 contained some new info on them- not nearly what i was expecting, apparently nerf and buff where interchangeable words that day -_-. So i guess we’ll see once 3.1 comes out. But, hero class or not, it’s annoying seeing dk’s being the camp ‘champ’ at everything.
By Tash on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at 12:43 pm
HAHAHA I want in on that 5k gold action.
By Alayea on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at 2:02 pm
@kiley
What was wrong with thinking or hoping the patch was a hoax? Patches almost never come out of the blue (pun unintended) and those are some heavy-handed nerfs there.
I hope that there’s a special nerf place (game version of hell) for people like you.
By Angel on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at 2:08 pm
I don’t like that they change the functionality of glyphs making them do something totally different.
You can’t unglyph them and resell them on the AH.. and some of us actually pay gold for glyphs. By changing the ability they no longer do what we want and thus making them wasteful in some cases.
By cocopuff on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at 2:40 pm
allright first of all dont be a hater if your class were the new champs whould you comlain i dont think so so dont complain about DKs if you cant beat them join them ill say it for the million th time maybe it whould help if i put in caps DKs HAVE NO WHEAR TO GO BUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on another note i know their a bunch of idiots who “you have to spell avrything correctly” but i whould think a multy million compapy can over look small spelling errors on three diffrant occasions i posted about the nerfs whear are the DK improvements i doubt anyone whould like the DK to be come the new point and laugh class the class no wants their is allways room for improvements theirs berly any room for nerfs give the people what they want unless your happy with 11 million+ if you wanto for all the classes to be egual buff all of them

“Fixed an issue where players using nVidia 3D glasses were unable to see spell cooldowns”
Way more important than fixing Warlocks
By Naivalit on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at 8:35 pm
@leppergnome
The patch u are refering to is patch 3.1.0 not 3.0.9 as they are applying right now.
As a rogue im a bit worried about the mutilate nerf. I recently specced mutilate from combat to do a bit better in PvE but now it might be lost time.. at least I got decet combat swords before I changed spec and saved them in case.
Hopefully blizz will soon give us rogues somethig so we can peform as well as other classes evenly geared ‘cus atm we are the worst PvE class around
By icecool on Wednesday, February 11th, 2009 at 4:23 am
