They call you a geek. A nerd. A virgin. A four-eyed freak. But let’s be honest with ourselves, people who dress up like lancers and forest fairies on the weekends get laid. Rennies are some of the raunchiest, horniest folks I’ve ever met, and that might have something to do with most of them growing up in the Summer of Love. But even your average teenaged LARPer can get in on the action, and what better way to impress that burly knight or minxy rogue you’ve got your eyes on that toting a full-sized replica of Frostmourne onto the battlefield?
Well, Fantasy and Halloween costume specialists, Museum Replicas, has got you covered… if you’ve got the cash to pony up. At $149, Arthas’ trademark weapon will cost you more than a handful of gold. But that’s the price you pay for quality, hand-crafted goods, isn’t it? Like all LARPing blades, Frostmourne is made out of a high-grade latex allowing it to look realistic, while remaining flexible enough to not actually hurt anybody (unless, of course, you whack your younger brother a little too hard or manage to poke an eye out).
For a little less money, the company is also offering faction-themed tabards ($80) and banners ($40), the latter of which, I admit, would be a pretty cool thing to hang over your war camp — or computer desk — though I might just wait and see if they add a Trollerific Sen’Jin banner in the future before I make the jump.
It’s a bit of a downer that, even if you order any of these items right now, they won’t be shipped out until some time in December. That’s great if you’re gifting these wares to a fellow nerd over the holidays, but don’t count on it if you plan on dressing up as your favorite Warcraft hero for Halloween.
While collectibles always end up being a little costly, I still have to say that I’m a fan of this trend. It proves that World of Warcraft is not only a game, but a true institution with a great influence on popular culture. What about you?

I’d much rather get the steel one from Epic Weapons.

@ Telinius
Sure, the steel one is more realistic, and looks pretty, but that is all you can do with it as it costs $500( I think, correct me if I’m wrong) and I for one would not LARP with a $500( again, correct me if I’m wrong) sword. However, $150 for a latex version that you can actually play with sounds great.

Sounds great, I really, really want that! … now, if I can just convince my parents ….

@4Khazmodan
LOL, they’re not $500 they’re a little bit more than the shitty one above, they’re £129 from epic weapons which is $210.59 (exchange rate is insane at the moment

And the steel one is heavy as Hell. Took me a week to find a strong enough wall stud to hang this thing on. Won’t be carrying around the real one this Halloween unless I bulk up in muscle (think Conan).
I was lucky enough to snag one within the first 200 produced (I have # 177).
Latex sword… Looks like it’ll be something to see on every game fan out there for next Halloween.

I can just see a bunch of horde running around raiding towns carrying a banner screaming for the horde on Halloween.

The steel Frostmourne is not for use, its for show (and would most likely get you arrested if you took it out of the house). The latex one on the other hand is not a lethal weapon so you can act out all your Arthas themed fantasies.
