I’m not sure if any of you had heard, but Wrath of the Lich King launched yesterday! Somehow, people are already hitting level 80, as there is proof of Nymh, a Level 80 Human Warlock (Alliance FTW) right here on the Armory. It makes sense that the first eighty was on the EU servers, as their time zones had a few hours of a head start to get the record.
Personally, I’ve only leveled a couple of times, but I cannot get enough of Northrend. I am enjoying pretty much every single quest I’ve done. I’m a bit of a quest-a-holic, and I’m going for both the Loremaster and 3000 quest achievements, so I finished up in Borean Tundra and headed over to Howling Fjord. I figure if I’m going to be doing these quests anyway, I may as well get XP for them.
What level are you guys a day and a half in? Vote on this poll! I’m guessing most are in the 71 area, but I’ve seen a bunch of mid 70s on Executus, so let us know.

By Pauldy on Friday, November 14th, 2008 at 3:32 pm
I don’t know if you should pat someone on the back who is already at level 80 or pray for them.
By Henry on Friday, November 14th, 2008 at 3:38 pm

Im more into my DK to tell u the truth. Hes half way to 60 and i just love the gameplay of him. When he hits 60 ill start working on my 70-80.

“Nymh is level 80, are you?”
God, no. I don’t even have the expansion yet. I have to wait for winter break
And. I canceled my account for the time being, so I missed all the pre-Wrath extravaganzas as well.
Lol, I feel like I’ve been living in a cave these past few weeks.
Anyway, even if I did have the expansion I’d probably be taking my time to level. That’s just me. I digest slowly.
By reynen on Friday, November 14th, 2008 at 5:33 pm

I won’t get the xpac because I have a few midterms next week. Hopefully everything will be less crowded and I can catch up!
By Eargyllann on Friday, November 14th, 2008 at 10:07 pm
Seeing someone at lvl 80 disgusts me. Blizzard worked so hard on making the game absolutly beautiful. Coming in to HF was breathtaking. The environments are just awasome and this guy desicrates everything just to get to lvl 80 before everyone else in the world. Whats in getting to 80 other than a few achivements and a server first? Nothing… you don’t get a oversized check. Or a fancy mount you get bragging rights, and in wow thats like being the fat kid in the neighborhood. So for everyone that reads this comment don’t pull your brains out trying to get to 80 as fast as you can the content will still be there the quests will still be there. Just enjoy the game and enjoy the questlines that is what this game is all about. Defending Azeroth against the Lich King!
By Dan on Friday, November 14th, 2008 at 11:52 pm
How long before it comes out saying they abused some kind of bug or something crazy to get leveled that fast. Highest toon on my server horde side is 77 when I logged off today(about 11 PST) So I’m expecting some 80’s by the end of the weekend.
By Littleraven on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 12:39 am
@ Eargyllann
i agree, i mean really…where is the fun in getting to 80 on like the 2nd day? you wait this long for it to come out just to blow through everything in a day, but whatever, im not gonna sit here and tell people how to play the game….its their money anyway…
By Dimak on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 12:55 am
Ive been questing as much as i can but sometimes there are just to many people around so I get right off and head over to my deathknight. So i havnt leveled as many times as I expected to by now but I dont mind much I love deathknights probably even more then my main now.
By Barduck on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 1:36 am
Well, in our guild we have a competetion: 100G for the first to ding 80. Anyway, as with TBC, the game only begins at 80 now (High leveled raids en hc’s) so I too wanna be 80 as as possible but I’m not rushing it. DK is fun too, especialy to pre quests where you have to get from under te Lich King influance. Too bad the line is a bit short, I would have loved seeing more DK only quests.
By Endomorth on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 1:57 am
His method of mob tagging is VERY similar to that of the method that got Athene banned, so he was very lucky not to have been banned himself. Personally I think he should be banned .

nymh has no life
By Dadis on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 2:31 am

but nymh sort of has a life but not a real ife
By ijswater on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 3:04 am
cant even enjoy the game with all the laggXD
i play on an EU server and it seems, everytime i login, the rest of Europe thinks the same…so this week im not gonna play my main in Nortrend.
wanna wait for the cooldown on the starting quest, cause right now i’m fighting FOR a mob instead of fighting WITH a mob XD
btw, G’z for all the Dings, guys
By Kipsurfin on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 7:28 am
A human mage on my server, Crushridge, hit 80 last night. Personally i havent started my way into Northrend yet because im a little late on getting the expansion.
By Lery on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 7:29 am
Well. if u guys didn’t know.. twentyfifthnovember com ( nihilum + sk gaming ) has already about 20 chars at lvl 80.. and they have already downed some bosses in Naxx, and toke some nice epics xD..
Idk how the hell could they even pass the trash…
By grillbar on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 10:20 am
haha on my server (grim bartol eu server) it was allso the realms first lvl 80 servers first human lvl 80 first warlock lvl 80 so aliance ftw
i personaly dont see the point in rushing though to gt to lvl 80 i mean i atleast need something to do to keep playing this game
there was an alliance who got to lvl 79 13 hours after launch but he got booted back to lvl 70 for cheating what he did was his hole guild formed a raid without hit he attacked 1 mob and let the guild kill it that way he got insane xp but blizzard saw that as a cheating so therefor he got booted:D
By grillbar on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 10:22 am
that guy on my realm got to lvl 80 about 4 hours before this post or so
By teeters on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 11:15 am
i don’t understand how people can be 80 already its just wrong lol i’m almost 71 and my death knight (who i have fallen in love with lol) is level 58
By Virago on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 12:53 pm
I wonder when people are going to realize the ride often is even more important than the destination. The high instances/raids isn’t and should be the biggest part of the game. The game has an awesome storyline with often cool and/or funny quest-storylines (though yeah, not all are that great to experience >.> ). Also the world and his critters/mobs/areas/whatever is quite interesting and teaming up with people is often quite an enjoyable thing too. If you can’t see that and are only focused on having better gear than anyone else, then you miss the whole point of the game. And yes, it’s just a GAME! Having the best of the best gear means absolutely nothing (other than that you’re an addict). And what if Blizzard decides to stop with WoW? Then you got the best of the best gear and the highest level on a character that does not even really exist, without ever having had experienced the true experience of the game.
See it as riding with a car and riding with a bycicle to somewhere. Riding the car may be fast, but by bike you will see/hear/smell a whole lot more. You will notice a lot more things. Things that makes the whole trip to and back a whoooooole lot more enjoyable…
By Mg Crikey on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 1:16 pm
I still love the “no life” comments I hear all the time. We’ve held contests for first to 70, and now 80, so maybe that was their goal. Hell we put a top of the line computer as the prize this time.
Obviously this was a group effort, because the amount of experience required is absolutely ridiculous.
I really hope someone on this site starts to look at the people who always yell out “Well they have no life!” every time someone does something better than the rest. And I swear, if they say “You need to have a girlfriend/sex” my comment is gonna be longer than this one. I can see the headline already… “So what do YOU call a life?”.
2c deposited, but I ninja’d 3g. Take care.
By Beignet on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
I completely agree with those who say enjoy the journey. The old addage getting there is half the fun applies here but should be modified, IMO, to getting there is TWICE the fun. To Virago, I am am bike rider myself and agree totally with the comparison. Its been two years and my main is a lvl 58 gnome demonology warlock. I will continue to enjoy the ride and have no plans of reaching the end soon.
By Dipsy on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
I decided to create and level a DK instead of leveling my 70s, im like 64 now but the highest DK is about 74/75 and we have 2 80s warrior and rogue on my server
By harry on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 6:24 pm
well hey guys i got tired of my warrior and thought hey why not try a new class insted of quiting altogether so i took the chance and leveled a death knight my name is ghray and im 59 and getting 60 tomoz im really loving the DK and the talents are sick. hey what lv are your DK’s guys? id love to no. also what do you think is the best talent tree to go for when leveling a DK hope you can answer my question
By air-zeek on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 6:25 pm
I think most of the level 80 may be Beta tester and know all the questes
By Paikya on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 6:38 pm
Pfft, I’m lvl 69… and I’m not rushing at all. I’d rather enjoy my way there, and look at the work put into it; rather than seeing how fast I can get thru so much content.
By Illithian on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
Level 79, just dinged there yesterday.
I’ve gotten quite ’sick’ with a ‘bad case of the flu’ on thursday and played through day and night. Gone quite crazy over this. Anyway, once I hit 80 im going to neglect my alts in favor of a death knight…
Can’t wait!
By Diego Camargo on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
Much too precipitaded in my opinion, you don’t have the time to enjoy the game, what do you do next? Raids? (how if most are trying to lvl up), so you’ll kill some lvl 70?
Much too addicted in my opinion.
By TuLaBeRrY on Sunday, November 16th, 2008 at 12:41 am
Im on nagrand server. ‘Tulaisdaroug’ i keep logging in and seeing:
Nagrand is full
Position in Queue: 986
Estimated Time: 113m
Sigh. I hope it’s not like this for too long.
Anyways i’m not gunna rush to 80. Too much fun leveling with all the new quests and zones and everything
No point rushing to 80 i think
By Afroman12 on Sunday, November 16th, 2008 at 1:58 am

By Asmoking on Sunday, November 16th, 2008 at 4:07 am
Hehe its funny to me .People who make this game are hardcore raiders and they ban now hardcore raiders )
Yes if you got lvl 80 in 1-2 days You using your guild to lvl you up.I don’t like people like that, but comon its not cheating and Blizz devs know that .We all know to be a UBER guild you goin to cheat every time you can.Faster we kill boss A faster we mowe to boss B,All hardcore guilds use that system .Its just stay in guild. But people who made this game shoud know better .>Hello lvl 80 I am sorry but we made this game we know how this game works but some people might get jelous so we goin to ban you.Have a good day..<

This guy has copied the name of a Blood elf Warlock on the Alleria Server (well he used to be a Warlock, now he is a Death Knight). This guys is well known for his youtube videos such as “Just Loot It”, “Assassinate” and “Pretty Fly for a Draenei”, he is also known for his work at Mad-Cow Productions.
I can understand if this person took the name because it wasn’t taken on his server but copying the class as well, did this person just want to be the Anti-Nyhm? (Nyhm is also known as Phrog801).
By Roberto Lord of Pain on Sunday, November 16th, 2008 at 12:06 pm
I apologise for the severity of my last post, it was uncalled for, but I do agree with a couple of you.
Levelling to 80 that fast is ruining the gaming experience for yourself, but if it was his/her choice to play like that then that is his/her own fault, None of us can criticise him/her for playing the way he/she wants to play.
By Krowtz on Sunday, November 16th, 2008 at 1:09 pm
I was playing yesterday and got the alert: Realm First Level 80! Everyone went crazy on the chat channels, it was hilarious. But indeed, if you are already level 80. You have nothing to contribute to society in real life. Still, that is impressive.
By Naivali on Sunday, November 16th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
Well now its the end of the weekend and we got a lot of 80s on Bloodhoof EU..
Ive been playing a lot this weekend but also slept 10 hours every night (I like my sleep) so I could have been 77 or 78 if I had only slept 6 hours like I do monday to thursday but come on get a life and go out to a drink or have fun with your friends instead of powerlvling to 80 in 2 days. Every time some1 dinged 80 on my realm every1 was like “omg what a no-lifer” and “they must not sleep at all”
At 2200 Paris time we had a lvl 77 DK and have no clue how he did it..
IM more into checking things out and trying the new bgs. Am 74 myself now and im very very exited about Strand of the Anchients and Im confident that Zand would love it too. maybe it can get him to pvp now
I got my copy 9 min after release and I have been playing a lot this weekend but I did go out friday with my friends so I wouldnt sit infront of the pc like those ppl. But if thats what they want its fine by me as long as they dont blame any1 else on losing RL friends when they stop playing wow.
By Ross on Sunday, November 16th, 2008 at 5:50 pm
I just got my deathknight to level 69 - and i’m loving the northrend experience, it loosk awesome, the quests are cool and have different things to do instead of a) slay or b) go collect, so i think now i’m in northrend i’ll be taking my time now to enjoy the game.
By Roi on Sunday, November 16th, 2008 at 8:30 pm
Roi - Lvl 57 - Nazgrel
Pastry - Lvl 52 - Nazgrel
Now, I’ve had the game since Feb. 23rd 06, played Roi since May of that year till December, acc. got canceled for 8 months, and I’m finally back.
I don’t have the x-Pac to WotLK.
Now my opinion on the lvl 80 thing? Heh. What’s the point? I mean, sure, we all say “Oh I’d rather enjoy the game than to be lvl 80″. But If we all had the chance and the energy to do such a feat (don’t forget the time and patience), I’m sure we’d attempt to pull of ‘Realm First! Level 80!’ or whatever. I’m sure if many the many people commenting “negatively” were lvl 80, it’d be a different story.
On the other hand, you can definitely say that I’m still a whole X-Pac worth of content behind, and be keeping a steady pace of 1/2 a lvl a day from here on out. By the time the actual Arthas, the Lich King boss is released, I should be around lvl 75. By the time SK Gaming manages to beat him? Level 75 1/2 xD
By Roi on Sunday, November 16th, 2008 at 8:31 pm
Whoa whoa whoa, scratch that. I played this game waaaaay longer than that xD

like 5 people dinged lvl 80 all in 1 night on my server
im only halfway 75 so unfair.
Undermine-
By Strikir on Monday, November 17th, 2008 at 2:47 pm
We had some ding 80 on our server the same day this guy did but just much later in the day.
I am at 71, almost 72, which isn’t that far, however… I am a Deathknight so I feel i progressed well so far but 70-80 will obviously go much slower then the previous levels have. I predict i will be 80 in about another week or two. All depends on how frustrated i get with the queue every night trying to log in.
By Edyion on Tuesday, November 18th, 2008 at 12:56 am
Meh, I am too busy enjoying the new stuff to worry about hitting 80 that fast. Blizz put a lot of work into the environments, models, and quests for me to just rush right past it all. I mean come on undead vikings raping the land, how can i not just take a minute to go…..niiiiiiiiiice. Besides all the realm first stuff on daggerspine was hit in like the first day and a half so why rush now?
By Garviel on Tuesday, November 18th, 2008 at 11:21 am
I’m in no hurry and I’m by no means a hardcore WOW player, but I seem to be leveling at a brisk pace, I’m lvl 72 within a few days playing part time (4-6 hrs a nite)? Thats just from questing / SSO dailys, and random mobs on the way. So unless the XP ramps up in the next few lvls I may be on my way to 80 within a couple weeks.
By ryan on Wednesday, November 19th, 2008 at 11:44 pm
im lvl 74 mage kul tiras
im not in a hurry but i am if that makes since i wanna have fun but i also wanna hit 80 asap and start raiding for all that phat loot
