I noticed that a lot of you were just as amused as I was with the names of some of the new Icecrown Citadel achievements, but I’m afraid you won’t find any pop-culture references in round 2. Don’t fret, though! We can still glean some cursory information on a new Vault of Archavon encounter, Toravon the Ice Watcher!
Now, I suppose it’s not all that much of a surprise. We’ve had a boss added to the optional raid with every patch since the release of Wrath of the Lich King, so it only figures that we’d get one with the release of 3.3, as well. But what I want to know is: just where the heck do they plan on sticking him? All three wings of the Vault are currently occupied! Perhaps Toravon’s chamber will appear behind one of the current ones, or maybe a new diagonal hallway leading off from the central hub? But that would totally mess with the fend shui of the place. No longer would we have such beautiful symmetry!
I suppose in the end, I don’t really care where they put him, but I do hope he’s a little more towards the Emalon end of the difficulty spectrum than the Koralon one. After all, as the (likely) final addition to the dungeon and a boss that will drop Emblems of Frost, he should pose a little more than the average threat, shouldn’t he? Anyway, let’s take a look at the new achievements (there a couple shiny new titles in it for some of you):
- Toravon the Ice Watcher (10-Player): Defeat Toravon the Ice Watcher in 10-player mode.
- Toravon the Ice Watcher (25-player): Defeat Toravon the Ice Watcher in 25-player mode.
- The Frost Ender: Defeat the Lich King in Icecrown Citadel in 10-player heroic mode (Reward - Title: the Frost Ender).
- The Kingslayer: Defeat the Lich King in Icecrown Citadel in 25-player heroic mode (Reward - Title: the Frost Ender).
- Realm First! Light of Dawn: Participated in the realm first defeat of the Lich King in 25-player heroic mode (Reward - Title: the Light of Dawn).
No doubt that Realm First title is going to be highly sought after. I know Blizzard’s waffled on handing out rewards to Realm or World Firsters in the past, but a feat as mighty as toppling Arthas might just be worth it. As for the title associated with the King Slayer, I’m wondering if that’s just placeholder text for the time being (it seems like it should give you a different title from the 10-player version, doesn’t it?).
Do keep in mind that “heroic mode” means something different from what it does in Trial of the Crusader. In this case, it indicates defeating the Lich King in “Hard Mode” a la Ulduar.
What do you guys think of these achievements? Are you excited for a new VoA fight? And how about the Realm First title? Should Blizzard be making it so rare to obtain?

The answer to where he will be located is simple.
The middle.
I anticipate either an elevator of SSC proportions, or a pit you can jump in, kinda like Azjol Nerub.
Or Trial of the Crusader.
…or Utgarde Keep.
…or Oculus…

Aliok and I are betting that Toravon will be placed in a room behind Archavon’s.

I think the new boss will be in the center wen all 3 of the other bosses are killed the center will have some kind of elevator and you will be took to the Frost watcher

i think we will have to down all three bosses before we can down the water guy the first time anyway i really think that the guy should be in the middle and the boss fight should be on the scale of hodir with some saphiron mechanics and if you beat all four of am in a sertauin amount of time (20 minets or something) you get a something special (title prefebly) i have a dozen titles but no real one i can be proub of except for my crusader title

The elevator idea will not work, as there are no signs of anything that looks remotely like/could have been an elevator in VOA. I think it would be cool if he spawned in the middle after you down the first three.

How about that when killing the 3 first bosses, a BIG ice chunk (hodir FTW) dropps down in the middle, the wall around the hole breaks and you are able to jump down the hole where you see the piece of ice, sundering, smelting, and finaly turning into a big boss
Just an idea. And it would be awsome!

“The elevator idea will not work, as there are no signs of anything that looks remotely like/could have been an elevator in VOA.”
Erm…. Right in the middle theres a big circular hole in the ground. Look down into it and it looks lke the Engine Of The Makers. It so easily could be occupied by an elevator platform to take you down to Toravon. Probably activated after killing the other 3 as there is no Earth, WInd, Fire and Water achievement.

Realm-First title would be awesome to get but there is no way I’m going to get that since my guild is recruiting for 10-man naxx.
As long the guys that gets it don’t rub it in our faces when we get it I’ll be fine.

Easy spot to put him: Underneath everything.
They just need to add a downward-staircase in the circular room. That’s my guess to where he will be.

they aded a whole new hall for toravon, like emalon and koralon, it was just pushed back between emalon and archanvon. lol no stairaces/falling ice, thats kinda dum, they just made VoA longer, if you run from the enterance straight to archavon, it’ll take tloner, thats all
