Ugg, maintenance day. What a waste of perfectly good play time Tuesday mornings are. Doesn’t Blizzard know that the morning is when I do my Auction House browsing and such. Anyways, since there isn’t much going on in the game right now I figured I could hit you guys with an update on Wrath of the Lich King and the load of mounts that are being added with its launch.
MMO-Champion has a screenshot for all but one of the mounts, so its best you head to their post if you want to see more. At the moment there are 32 new mounts by my count, a few of which we have known about for some time. However, 32 is a bit of an inflated number since many of the mounts are simply different colors of each other. Currently, there are actually only eight drastically different models split up into seven categories.
Category and model breakdown:
- Others – Windrider and Gryphon
- Bears – Four Assorted Bears
- Mammoths – Eight Assorted Mammoths
- Proto-Drakes – Seven Assorted Proto-Drakes
- Drakes – Seven Assorted Drakes
- Tailoring – Two Magnificent Flying Carpets
- Engineering – Two Hogs
I am less than thrilled about the Alliance version of The Hog, the motorcycle that I raved about before. My second choice would be the BlizzCon Polar Bear (aka Big Blizzard Bear), but we all know how that went. So now I am on to my third choice for a ground mount it seems. I guess I will just have to settle for ridiculousness and put my Gnome Rogue atop one of the many Mammoths.
Why is it ridiculous? Because my character is smaller than what he would poo.

Whoa, 3 people can fit onto one mount? thats cool i guess, but what purpose does it serve?

Ive actually seen a Frostwyrm mount. It is an awesome brown skeletal drake with blue essence flying through its body and head. One of my FAVORITE mounts

Forgot to put in… Blizzard should make Guild Ships. Have a “Ship” driver in the guild (probably the raid leader) who buys the mount itself. Then have everyone meet up in Shatt or Dalaran and get inside the ship. You can fly to the raid and not have to worry about no one being there and getting ganked! You can have the gold put into the guild bank buy it and cost 10k gold to get it (training and the mount itself). Whatcha think guys?
It can even have Siege weps for them people wanting to pvp in the air

that seems like a good idea i guess but i think it could be abused by a whole pvp raid landing in a world PvP place

To Tiwtin:
Haha, guild ships would be pretty bad ass. Think it should cost a lot more than 10k gold though. If a whole guild is pitching in (up to 500 members, but could be as low as 40-50) it should be atleast around 30-35k, and thats just compaired to how easy gold is to obtain at 70.
But with air ships comes pirates! Two guilds could duke it out in the air O_o! Ohh the possibilities…

aww no… You lose Tuesday mornings…
Meanwhile All Aussies and people of similar time zone cop a full maintenance every tuesday from 8pm.
Even on ‘Oceanic’ servers. This is the most annoying thing Blizzard have been doing for the entirety of the games life.
Losing a night, mid-week, EVERY week can severely cut down on a guilds raid time. Not to mention, we’re paying for every day we play and every day we DON’T play.
I’d hope to find some similar voices here, and hopefully reinvigorate our arguement with Blizzard. Stop shunting us on Tuesday nights, just because it’s easier to maintain the servers all at once. At LEAST sectionalise the Oceanic servers.

that picture of the mammoth gave me hard on for this game

Kevorkian:
yearh its kinda anoying that i h loose a lot of hours that i pay for. they should do some kind of discount like over how long your paying (like im paying pr 6 month so the discount should be every 6 month for me) like a email saying we use x amount of time reparing/server downtime and so on with will be deducted from you next bill…
i know you can allway use game card but come on i dont wanna bye tons of game card constantly, and the stores here in denmark are closed on sunday so if i run out of time like sunday mid-day i have to w8 untill its monday to go buy one and the stores are not open when i go to work and they are closed when i get off 11 hours later so that means i cant buy game card untill fridag when i dont have to go to work
so basicly it would be awsome to get a discount on wasted time but honestly im 99.9% sure that will never happen

I’m really hoping there’s at least one proto-drake available through a rep-grind or a 5-man quest reward. They are so bamf, but I hate grouping with any more than 5 people when so many people just don’t know how to play. So far it’s confirmed that 4 of the proto-drakes are from rediculous achievments that limit them to hardcore raiders unless you want to wait a full year to get all the Holiday achievements, but that still leaves 3 that hopefully will be a little more reasonable to get. Blizzard has been doing a lot lately to limit the more fun aspects of the game to level-cap hard-core people, ie Brewfest mounts this year.

I can’t wait for the multi-passenger mounts! All I have to do is get one of the friends to help, and I can have alts leveled in no time.
