Algalon Goes Down!

AlgalonWhen Ulduar first hit I made a post asking when we all thought Algalon the Observer (the true final boss of Ulduar) would go down. Well it appears that Ensidia has answered my questions, well, at least for 10 mans.

The super guild announced on their web site that one of their 10-man teams had finally downed him (and also buried a note that another had completed world first Alone In The Darkness).

While I know it will be quite a while before I get to wear the Starcaller title, it is very exciting to hear their impressions of the fight. They of course comment on the added challenge of the one hour timer, but they also claim it is “not quite as hard as Blizzard made it out to be.” I’m taking that with a grain of salt because I imagine their idea of difficult is quite a bit different than mine!

For those that are interested they also provide a link for the loot they obtained as well as some screenshots of the quest chain. They promise video is on the way in short order.

It is encouraging to me to see it took them as long as it did, because in Ensidia time, this took a while! After all they certainly didn’t waste anytime getting world first Yogg, or any other world first for that matter!

So now the only question is how long until we see Algalon-25 go down? Or how about some of the Algalon hard modes? It pretty clear Blizzard intends to keep us all busy for a while.

If you want to keep track of the world first Algalon-25 progress for yourself I recommend you keep an eye on Ensidia’s site… I have a feeling that the news will break there!

It makes me feel sad, knowing I’ll never get to experience such end-game content because I don’t want to throw away my life into WoW. /sigh

Remember when you had all you could do to get VanCleef?

I was wondering when someone would blog about it. I posted on the PL forums and thought Juggy would get a blog up about it but Bastosa beat him to the punch :)

Big props to Ensidia, though there was some controversy about one of the hard mode kills they got that I think had something to do with a bug that mages could spell steal something that made it trivial which was hotfixed after Ensidia got the world first for that particular hard mode. Would have only been a matter of time though for them.

I hope that I one day see Algalon but it probably won’t be for quite some time for our guild as well. We’ve still got a ways to go content wise before we can think about hard modes.

Ensidia had several 10man groups working on Algalon. It’s a very impressive feat to have defeated him.

Many guilds have completed some of the hard mode bosses already and some have even attempted Algalon. It will be exciting to see who downs him next!

The gloves would be my main prize there (Mages For the Win Always) with the neck piece being a close second…

I looked in the armory and theres only a couple horde guilds called Ensidia, none of which the people in the picture were a part of. plus i looked up the individual people and none of them were in a guild called Ensidia or had the achievement for killing Algalon. anyone know why that would be?

This Ensidia is a guild from EU servers…

    @straxis
    did you look in EU?

in response to the spell steal thing. They had to do that to kill the thing on hard mode according to calculation done the amount of DPS needed to accomplish it was impossible. At least from what i have read on the warcraft forums.

    lol
    Gratz to them

I still havn’t even stepped inside Ulduar so i don’t even know what it looks like in there. Guess i’ll get carried again on some weekend night when a guild needs one more DPS for them to go.
    *shrug*

My first ever raid was 25-man Naxx so it’s not impossible. And yea, like Alayea said, i don’t wanna throw my life into WoW. Besides, i don’t think im geared to even go there.
    Havn’t downed Kel Thuzad. 10 or 25 man. Havn’t downed Malygos. 10 or 25 man. And i havn’t done Sarth+2D. 10 or 25 man.

lol. Id raid more often if it didn’t require you dedicate your entire night to the game. :)
    Still, gratz to Ensidia!

But that trinked has gotta be the best i’ve ever seen. 13.3% increas crit chance! Im already at 30% so that’d push me to almost 44% crit chance. Id be critting half my DPS!
