Failure to Apply Patch 3.2 Fix for Windows Vista and 7

Posted by Juggynaut on Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

This morning while trying to login (fruitlessly, of course), I ran into a small error that seems to be pretty common. The WoW Launcher would download Patch 3.2, but would then give an error, “Failure to Apply Patch,” or “Unable to Apply Patch.” After trying the repair utility, a quick search reveals the steps to [...]

Patch 3.3 Not Live for “1 Month +”

Posted by Heartbourne on Thursday, November 19th, 2009

There is a strange blue post that our commenter Vexklythor tipped us off to that implies that patch 3.3 will not be live until late December at the earliest. The post was in response to a forum post about the recent background downloader performing very poorly. Quote:
We only provide mirror links for full client patches. [...]

Patch 3.0.2 Going To Be Big - Downloading Begins Soon

Posted by iTZKooPA on Thursday, September 11th, 2008

Oh sweet jumping Jesus.  Patch 3.0.2 is apparently creeping up on us sooner than I expected.  Blizzard Poster Zarhym announces that the bridging patch is going to be a large one.  Not that we expected anything less, considering the size of the pre-TBC “Before the Storm” patch.  I already touched on some changes that were [...]

Patch 3.3: Background Downloading Continues

Posted by Amatera on Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

I know the rest of you are as sad as I was to learn that today would not end up being patch day, but the march towards 3.3 continues on regardless. Logging onto World of Warcraft and then exiting again will activate the Background Downloader, which is now gathering data from the second chunk of [...]

How Did Project Lore Do on Patch 3.2 Speculation?

Posted by Heartbourne on Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

Project Lore bloggers have been all over speculation over the last few months. iTZKoopa has been talking about the possibilities in the next expansion, and our posts about lore are certainly not devoid of our own theories. pixiestixy has also had her fair share of wacky ideas. As far myself, way back, just after the [...]

Patch 3.0.2 - The Latest And Greatest

Posted by iTZKooPA on Friday, August 29th, 2008

Some more details have been coming out about the pre-Wrath of the Lich King content patch. As you know, the upcoming patch will act as a “bridging” patch. What this means is that Blizzard will use patch 3.0.2 to introduce a chunk of the Wrath changes, before Wrath is launched. This is [...]

Preparing for Patch 3.2: Emblems and Gear

Posted by Heartbourne on Monday, August 3rd, 2009

With patch 3.2 on the horizon, this will be the last post in the Preparing for Patch 3.2 series. Be sure to check out the posts on Tradeskills and Battlegrounds as well!
One thing you should be aware of in patch 3.2 is that all dungeons and raids outside of the Crusader’s Coliseum will be dropping [...]

Is 3.0.8 Here Yet??

Posted by Bastosa on Monday, January 19th, 2009

I don’t think I am the only one growing a little impatient for the promised patch 3.0.8. I really don’t know why I am so anxious, but I am. It is only a minor patch, and I shudder to think how fidgety I will be before the release of Uldar.
Maybe its just me, but it [...]

Patch 3.3 Release Date Predictions

Posted by Heartbourne on Saturday, October 17th, 2009

With Icecrown Citadel testing underway and with the builds containing more fine-tuning than major mechanics changes, a lot of people are speculating on the release date of patch 3.3. I’ve heard this date cited by multiple prominent WoW media figures and I will agree that it is a likely date - December 8th, which is [...]

Patch 3.2: A Retrospective On Its Application

Posted by iTZKooPA on Friday, August 7th, 2009

Whenever Blizzard decides to lay a patch on us I hold my breath.  Sure, I want the bounty of content, but sometimes that isn’t all we receive.  Oftentimes we’ll be stuck at login screens, the World Server will be down, our add-ons will cease to work, or worse, fail to do their jobs appropriately.  And [...]
